Sweet! I use MS OFFICE every day at work, also I've had official level 3 and taking programming courses for Excel and Access too (2003 :( but hey I love new stuff too )! So this is actually very exciting for me...
Are there any official feature lists available?
Through Google, I found a feature list on Wikipedia... but all it has is contextual menus, the redesigned UI, and PDF support (finally).
This doesn't seem enough to justify packaging a brand new version of Office, so I'm hoping that they have something else.
For example, I've always yearned for a sentence tense helper for word processors (not necessarily correcting me, but highlighting sentences based on their tense so I can figure out where I've messed up).
I realize that such a thing is a difficult feature to do, so it would be a great thing for an organization with a huge budget - such as Microsoft - to pioneer.

No offense Matt, but people who find Office software exciting need to get out more.

Yeah, "looks and feels more like OpenOffice" is pretty much it. Did they get Open Document Format support in there yet, or are they still insisting that your documenta are their ball, and they get to decide who plays with it? Microsoft doesn't have a big budget, they have deep pockets. Such organizations do not pioneer technological breakthroughs. That's why they have deep pockets. Microsofts policy has always been "Never be first, never be last, and never volunteer for anything". It seems to work well for them. Installed it... Like the new interface. It's better than 2003 for sure.

Well yes I did. I guess I don't anymore. So sad. I still don't understand people whining like little girls because office creates proprietary document formats... "oh my... My freebie office suite software can't open and use them!!" OF COURSE THEY CAN'T YOU FOOL! If it could, why would anyone want to buy MS office?! Get over it and use it.... or don't.
I wonder if it still requires 24kb to store an empty .doc

@Kanati: what happens when your Office lisence runs out, or you get a new computer and don't want to pay the extra for MS Office when you can get a free one?

retro...................... office licenses do not "run out". Your logic is flawed. A lot. If I get a new computer the license carries over. Another flawed example.
As for openoffice. I use that too. Printing from it's word processor is like molasses running out of a jar that's been in the refrigerator for days, but it does work.

After expiration, 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 will continue to work in a reduced functionality mode that limits your options and operations.
Be nice if I knew what the limitations were, would be nice to update this horrid Office98 off my PC, although I am quite content with Corel Wordperfect...which I somewhat find better then Word in some cases since I use both on the school PCs.
Does it not support Win2K for any reason? Only states WinXp or later needed for it, and I was under the assumption that quite a few still use 2k these days.

Wow. Talk about missing the point completely. Just so you know, OpenOffice can open most MSWord .doc files (particularly older ones) better than Microsoft Office can. I'm not whineing because Microsoft Office creates propriety documents, but because they don't support open standards. You see back when we migrated from using Microsoft Office to OpenOffice, converting between the thirty odd documents or so we had, was little to no trouble, as OpenOffice would handle the loins share of them with no problems, just load them in, and save them back out. Done. Fast forward a year and a half or so, and the ammount of documentation has grown exponetially, and there is no way on earth we are going to convert them all back again manually. Why did you keep using Office when you already migrated to OpenOffice once?

We didn't keep using (Microsoft) Office. We where contemplating switching back if any of the issues we had with Microsoft Office 2003 had been resolved in the mean time. Since it doesn't support ODF however, it's somewhat of a moot point, as the work required to migrate back is not likely to ever be worth anything Microsoft Office 2007 has to offer. (...).
