I know some of the old timers around here will remember Sab. Anyone know exactly what happened to him and the MMO he was making?
What happened to Sabata Rh?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What happened to Sabata Rh? Wish I knew! He did some killer stuff a while back. Where the heck have you been BTW? Are you still doing that flight sim?
Well, if we are talking about "Ronnie Smith" of Aliencodec then he is still here - He's now known as "sinister". www.blitzbasic.com/Account/showuser.php?id=1026
WHEN YOU CATCH UP WITH HIM - ASK HIM ABOUT RE-SELLING TO THE COMMUNITY BLITZTREE3D AND BLITZGRASS - PLUS, WHAT HAPPENED TO BLITZTREE3D 2?

I got a job programming stuff for the air force so I've been busy with that....and been busy waiting for the max3d module to be released. =P
Flight sim is shelved atm but I'm doing some preliminary testing for a pirate game.

yeah he up and disappeared leaving a TON of angry people because he was still selling products so people were not recieving their downloads and stuff.
On blitzcoder Sabata Rh uses this email adress:
viszero at addr.com

Well my stance has not changed - if he is no longer selling the likes of BlitzTree3D and BlitzGrass (and doesn't intend on selling them) - he may as well make them freeware and make some of the unhappy people happy again.

You mean like Rob (Hutchinson) did? Didn't seem to work too well for him. There are too many good people who don't seem to come around anymore. Sad really...

He sold up to TGC and they honoured all back orders, even mine. It took me well over a year to get my product, but when I finaly got it I ended up with a later version :) !. You cant fault TGC for that.
As for the rest of this subject there's nothing positive I could contribute.

Well when you've got the 'moan brigade' and the 'stalk brigade' roaming the boards, some people just don't bother posting anymore.

I'm actually getting on TGCs nuts to receive BlitzGrass and BlitzTree3D to backup them after the download page of ronnie just disappeared.
Its quite a long way as I got forwarded to 3 people so far (think I've mailed with nearly all "heads" of TGC now ... )

Well, he may have sold up to TGC - but exactly what did he pass to them?
What happened to BlitzTreed3D and BlitzGrass - does anyone know if TGC have them - if so, I'll consider buying them back again. In fact, if TGC are sitting on these I might pester them to hand them over - but I need to know who has them.
I have already said before - the stuff that TGC are selling is still copyrighted to him, not TGC - TGC are not mentioned at all in the licence.

Yes they have them, at least from what they told me in the mails (support and Chris so far, Rich is the next I was told to mail to)
Well, this "Rich" never responded to me. Perhaps, TGC intend on sitting on the Blitz-named products as they are really for a competing product.
Well I need a definite answer - just in case they are only handling Treemagik and Plantlife products. I don't want to pursue something TGC don't have.
Mmm, will think about this further.

TGC have the rights to all of Alien Codecs products, it was a wholesale purchase, but when I spoke to Rich about it (during the buyout) they where not sure what to do with BlitzTree and BlitzGrass. At the time they where considering whether to make them free and unsupported, or to not bother with them.
I imagine it would be difficult for them to sell those products, given their purpose.

Cheer yourself up with some bacon rashers.
Mmm, this all seems very strange - TGC buy 2 products that they didn't know what to do with? Well, they are either going to sit on them or hand them over.
I'm going to email everyone I know within TGC and suggest the 'hand them over' option and whether "sabata" can resell them to our community or whether they are just freeware.
EDIT:
The wheels are in motion. Now we just need to wait on TGC's decision.

Someone at the Games Creators have given an initial response of:
What I asked was:
Concerning BlitzTreed3D and BlitzGrass, my understanding is that TGC bought these 2 products as part of a package from Aliencodec and that TGC does not have a current intention of selling BlitzTreed3D and/or BlitzGrass.
Can these now be released as freeware please or transferred back to Aliencodec if they still want them?
I feel that TGC would benefit from good publicity to make available 2 products that, seemingly, were never going to see the light of day again.
Hi, I will certainly look into what to do with these products.
