Paying programming job: port C++ code to blitzmax

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Paying programming job: port C++ code to blitzmax

Hiya,

I'll pay $20 to you, or $25 to your favorite charity, if you port this code exactly to blitzmax :) It must work absolutely perfectly though and is intended for a 2D engine.

The conditions are it must work with multi layered images like in big kahuna reef. To see how this works, simply download it here.

Run the game, and start a single player game. During the game type dirtyrects - nothing will happen, but if you hold down F3, you will see the system how it should work.

Get in touch or reply to this topic if you feel like taking up the challenge!

It might be better if it could actually compile...

That's gonna be hard without all the dependencies, this is after all just the framework that they used.

Rob, I'd suggest using their ideas and building your own, that's how I implemented my hardware accelerated DirtyRects system (yeah I know that sounds crazy but it means that even on really low end machines my games run well).

Oh, here is a compiled version showing it working http://www.indiepath.com/tim/dirty_debug.rar (this is running in DX7 Software fallback)

No, I agree - hardware dirty rects will really speed up some games on tnts and stuff. Coulding get your dirty_debug working for some reason. Just a blank white window.

Offer is still open to anyone who wants to take it up. Probably really easy for anyone with bmax skills and a knowledge of C++.

I think it's more a matter of fees rather than skills. $25 is not a lot for something that could take a couple of days to get perfect.

Ok, I'll do this myself then, I'm not paying over $25 for this job :)
