Hi,
I don't think I'm going to be able to find enough hours in the day to work on all the projects I want to work on, so I'm going to need to start partnering up on at least some of them. First up is the Casual Game Enhancer.
What is it?
It's called Casul Game Enhancer. It's essentially a trainer application, which supports a whole bunch of Casual Games ( currently supports about 35-40 ) and does so in a very user-friendly manner.
How's it Being Sold? What do I get paid?
It's being sold from my site when it's ready to be released. It's probably going to sell for $29.95 and you'll get a percentage. The exact percentage is negotiable, and will depend on the skills of the person who joins me on this. I'm not anticipating it getting picked up by any major portals, but I won't discount the possibility.
What skills/tools are required?
Mainly you'll need to know how to make trainers. You don't need any tools, I can provide those if you don't already have tools you like, but you do need to be experienced with making trainers. It's not hard, but I don't have time to teach someone, and it's just something you have a knack for or you don't really. If you have to ask "exactly how are you making the trainers?" or "How do I know if we're doing it the same way?" then you're probably not the right person for the job. ( Or you're much better than me and I'm in way over my head, which seems unlikely considering how far I've got already, but it's always a consideration. )
You'll also need BlitzMax and you'll need to be reasonably competent with application programming with MaxGUI and BMax. It's a pretty simple application and it's already got a pretty solid skeleton there, so you won't need to be a genius programmer. Just enough to be able to flesh it out a little and make it a little nicer and more user-friendly.
So essentially, you'll be tidying up the application itself, and adding a few new features possibly, and most of the rest of it will be making it work for new games.
What will YOU be doing?
I'll be adding new games when I can. I'll be marketing it, supporting it, selling it and I'm the one who put in all the work on it so far, including concept, application structure, figuring our how to make it work and making sure it doesn't have any legal problems. Trust me, the hard work's been done and the rest is really just finding the time if you know what you're doing. If you do know what you're doing, you probably already know how much fun this is.
If there's no interest, no one qualified or I just generally can't reach a mutually agreeable arrangement then I'll just have to take a look at the priorities and see if I can find a partner for another project and go solo on this one, but I think this is probably the easiest project to split between two people, because we can just make a huge list of casual games, halve it and get to work on it, can't we?
Any questions, ask. Any questions you'd prefer to ask in email, email. If you'd like to have a pop at me, complain about the price of sausage rolls or something else entirely, I'd definitely prefer you did that in email. Preferably someone else's email :P
