Hi,
We are migrating to windows 64 bit platform due to XSI being 3 times faster to render on it.
It is a no-brainer. Most games today support it just fine. Will there be a problem with blitzmax? It would be incredibly silly if there was.
Anyone tested?
Yup. It runs fine. I haven't found any software under XP x64 that hasn't worked as well or better than on 32-bit XP Pro.
I own XP Pro, if I wanted to switch to x64, would I need to buy a second license?

One Eyed: Hope you've not got a Canon printer - x64 drivers are non-existant. Currently the only thing preventing me from taking the plunge.
Epson have x64 drivers for most of the range
Driver support is the biggest problem with the x64 adoption -- many manufacturers have no support for XP64 drivers yet, and those who do often haven't released them for their older hardware, only going forward.
Also, while the 64bit version speeds some things up, it also slows other things down because a lot of things will take up twice as much memory space now... Good thing that the 64bit version supports more RAM than the 32bit version of windows does, but unfortunately you'll also going to be using more, even if you don't do anything different than before.
All my drivers are available, thanks :)
