I see we have had a large number of positive threads regarding Aurora. I think it's high time that the people who have paid the money are allowed to outline the negative aspects of the engine and why they came about.
I had the 'Why did I do that?' feeling the moment I bought Aurora. The events leading up to 'the banning' have only reinforced this. In no particular order:-
- the 50% price cut within days of the initial release
- the authors unchanged manners/attitude
- the no demonstration situation
- the rushed release
- crappy docs
- the buggy/untested updates
- spamming these forums
- the stupid C# signature thing to annoy skidracer
During the banning period Mr. Aurora also pulled the 'Arkon disappearing act' on all the people who quickly took the initiative to support him in his time of (internet access) need. I've lost the money but I sure as hell am not wasting any more time on the engine. In a different world the same wrapper could have been all love and flowers. It should have been Aurora v0.0001 Alpha and it should have been released by Evak or not at all. Nothing directed at Evak as it's not his fault, but I'm pretty certain he is not happy about these events either. Don't think I've missed any of the major points in that description. Looks pretty bad, but also pretty true. I've been a good boy, sitting and watching all this Aurora crap fly about whilst maintaining a positive/quiet attitude in the vain hope that this would benefit Mr. Aurora. It didn't, so maybe laying the facts on the table like this will...
If you bought Aurora and are unhappy with your purchase then please add to this. I'd prefer if this does not turn into a slagging match. Just detail why your unhappy in a professional manner as I have done.
I can't see any problem with that.
I've said my '40 GBP' piece so I'll shut up about it now.
