WTF has happened here? I just went to blitzed.org to access IRC via CGI:IRC (as I usually do), but it seems to have changed into some kind of wiki thing. :/

It's common courtesy to register it, but he isn't forcing anyone to. Why he isn't, however, is a pretty good question considering mIRC is the most widely used client.

The opera webbrowser (which is now free) has a built-in IRC client.
Well, the Nubian server is down - the CGI stuff is running but they probably moved the log-in page so as not to strain it - there are other things that that server handles.
I'd assume this is just temporary - ie, not a permanment removal of the web-page access.
