Unique Date and Time!

On the 4th of next month, at two minutes and three seconds past 1:00am In the morning, the time and date will be:

01:02:03 04/05/06

That won't ever happen again in our lifetime, in fact, it will be approximately 400 generations before it happens again.

It will actually happen every one hundred years because only the last 2 digits of the year are shown - the next one will be 2106 then 2206,2306 etc ,etc . If you use the whole year then it will be unique and never repeated.

Um, won't the next one be 02:03:04 05/06/07?

yes and then 03:04:05 06/07/08 - then you could go on forever - not very exciting really.

I'd propose that no one can KNOW that. One could reasonably "take it for granted" I guess though? <shrug>

Nothing is ever as simple as one thinks. I think a minus sign in front of all those zeros might be unlikely to have ever been though, which is odd in and of itself.

The thing is... back then, they didn't waste time with discussions about the number sequences created by clocks.
