Aurora Net a managed dll for all net languages has just been released to registered owners of Aurora.
It features every feature of Aurora Lite, the only features it missed are BlitzNet Optica (Networking) and MaxAvi(AVI)
So it still features physics,3d, lights etc etc.
Any new customers of Aurora will recieve both the bmax and Net versions.
Net version includes c# standard compiled help docs.
does it have sound?
Not yet, will have to wait until I do fmod wrappings on the C++ wrapper side.
Next release then.
on that question... i can still play sounds through vbnet, right... and the vb network code would still be available ... right...
this looks interesting... i may have to pull back out that plastic again...

VB network code?
You must know something I don't...
there's plenty of stuff i know, that you don't know, noel... a whole universe of facts and figures and trivia and experiences :P
but since we're not talking about credit card interest rates at the moment, i'll just direct you here-->
http://www.vbip.com/scroll around.. read a few of the articles... so that you don't have to ask me any more questions like the one you just did, in the future :)
--Mike
I don't see anything on your nonexistant VB network code, Red, just .NET's API.
god... are you blind... or are you sipping from the contents of the parents whiskey cabinet...
look for this... not even 1/10th down the page...
Multicast Sockets
Sample Chapter from Professional .NET Network Programming
In this chapter, we will create two Windows applications using multicasting features. With one application it will be possible to chat with multiple systems, where everyone is both a sender and a receiver. The second application – in the form of a picture show – demonstrates how large data packets can be sent to multiple clients without using a large percentage of the network bandwidth.
In particular, we will:
Compare unicasts, broadcasts, and multicasts
Examine the architecture of multicasting
Implement multicast sockets with .NET
Create a multicast chat application
Create a multicast picture show application

Defining Threads
Sample Chapter from Visual Basic .NET Threading Handbook
This book will cover how .NET applications are executed, the life cycle of a thread in .NET, how the .NET Framework uses threads, how threads work in an event-driven environment, how we can avoid race conditions and deadlocks, how the activity of multiple threads can be synchronized, and how to debug multithreaded applications. We finish it off by describing the creation of a multithreaded network application./b]

[b]Review of “Network Programming for Microsoft® Windows®”
from the Visual Basic programmer's perspective
If you are, as I was, looking for the book that covers the Winsock API and gives examples of how to use it with Visual Basic, you have found what you were looking for. That is, this title is a single one on the market today that keeps in mind that there are thousands of the Visual Basic programmers who want to know but have almost no information on how to utilize the Winsock API in order to develop network applications...
(Book review. Published: February 12, 2002)
now come on... i'm gonna have to start charging you if i'm gonna be acting as your eyes as well as your brains now...
--Mike
First two both use .NET, third one, gasp, uses Winsock, not something specific to VB.
Are we done here?
i think you were done before you even woke up this morning :P
can't you see the references to this...

It's funny when people get mad because I'm right.
hahahahaha... mad... i'm not mad, i'm just busy...

Next.
well einstein... if it's .net... and you're programming in vb.net... then duuuhhhhh....
plus... READ THE TITLE OF THE WEB SITE!!!

Visual BASICdouble duuuuuuhhhhhhh :P
next...

> if it's .net... and you're programming in vb.net... then duuuhhhhh....
So, let's look at this from a logical standpoint:
(.NET & VB) > VB Network Code
Nope, doesn't work. VB network code and .NET, you see, are two completely different things.
> and the vb network code would still be available ... right...
Plus, you never once said .NET. I think you were just being ignorant of what VB .NET actually used.
>plus... READ THE TITLE OF THE WEB SITE!!!
What, pray tell, does the title of the website have to do with whether or not there's VB-specific network code built into the runtime?
Really, this coming from the guy who suggested my parents abused me is just ridiculous.
ahhh noel... shadddup... you're becoming a pendantic pain...
doesn't work. VB network code and .NET, you see, are two completely different things
seeeeeee... i told ya i knew a whole lot more about everything than you do...
vb.net, c#.net, all the dot nets.. compile to the CLR (Common Runtime)...
so ya see.. it does work... they're all the same thing...... as anyone who had the faintest idea what they were talking about would know...
hey... look... if you don't wanna listen, then don't... i've got better things to do...
i'm wasting my time trying to help you, and you're throwing one of your lil hissy fits, bustin my chops with your foolishness... yup... you've sure shown that you are the brains here...
sorry kid... i aint got time to play with ya right now... maybe later...
probably not...
Really, this coming from the guy who suggested my parents abused me is just ridiculous.
where the heck did that come from!!! i sure didn't say anything to that effect...
wow... sounds like you got something you really wanna talk about...
well, sorry, find someone else... you're acting a lil too weird for me at the moment...
*** thread shall now return to the topic at hand***
--Mike
Thanks Antony. Muchly appreciated;)
[EDIT] I could be doing without the slagging match. Besides, everyone knows that mines bigger anyway...
where the heck did that come from!!! i sure didn't say anything to that effect...
You did quite a while ago back in that "whose code do you use most" thread.
Just because it compiles to the same code does not make it VB-specific as you had implied in your original post. They aren't all the same thing, the results of the compilation are (and even then the compilers actually produce somewhat different code based on what the language in question supports).
Frankly, I have better things to waste my time on than you.
then why are you still babbling on...
and boy, you mean you still remember that thread!!! after all this time... geeez, we sure do let a lot of shiite fester that lil toilet on top of your shoulders, don't we...
now c'mon... leave the thread alone, and go downstairs and get some more fatherly abuse :P
--Mike
then why are you still babbling on...
He's 17 - he has an excuse for behaving like a teenager.
How about you? o.O
now c'mon... leave the thread alone, and go downstairs and get some more fatherly abuse
You know... you REALLY need to grow up. :/
i'm 54...
so, i have an excuse for acting like a teenager too... smart ass...
besides... he's not acting like a teenager... he's acting like a fool... typical noel, time of the month antics...
he just picked the wrong nice guy to do it with this time...
now, do you want to join in the party, or are you gonna surprise everyone and be smart...
... and spare this thread your particular brand of jackhole shit as well.
--Mike
How is it that you aren't banned for all the vulgar language you use?
now, do you want to join in the party, or are you gonna be smart, and spare this thread your jackhole shit as well...
Or your edited version....
now, do you want to join in the party, or are you gonna surprise everyone and be smart...
... and spare this thread your particular brand of jackhole shit as well.
i'm sure a moderator will be along shortly...
i just might be... but it'll be worth it to get themessage across to you, seeing as your mother or father hasn't been able to teach you any common courtesies...
you made thepurchase... i just gave you the change in the currency you started the exchange with...
both of you act like dimwits... then go whining to the mods to protect your asses... deal with people in a courteous fashion, and you'd have a lot less to worry about...
gfk... you should know the mods verrrry well after your recent vacation...
--Mike
The message that behaving like you is a bad idea? Everyone knows that by now.
again you show that you can't even comprehend what you read... you obviously didn't get the message...
this is Anthony's thread... are you gonna keep on hijacking it... or are ya gonna try and behave, and spare yourself any further humiliation...
--Mike
Antony: Just wanted to apologize for letting your thread get filled with Red's insanity. In any case, I'm gonna go get something to eat, so I'll stop there and let the mods clean up this mess however they see fit.
>this is Anthony's thread
You could at least show some respect and spell his name right.
too late... he knows already that you're the crazy one... probably the result of the child abuse you mentioned, no doubt...
you mess up this guys thread... then you have the gall to apologize, as if you were genuinely sorry...
typical noel time of the month antics...
then the other troll, who just got back from his vacation in 'banned'ville feels he has to jump aboard... and he has the gall to talk about the mods coming around soon...
--Mike
What right do you have to ruin this thread?
I know I'm a fine one to talk but I have issues, Deep issues and everyone on the forum knows it so when I drag a thread in to the wasteland people just ignore me.
I don't see why a 54 year old Man would want to constantly have arguments with a 17 year old kid. This is just that. I've noticed many times that a flame war starts between Noel and Red and it's always Red who's the instigator. Maybe you're a little jealous of Noel Red and it's manifesting itself in this particular way.
sure i'm jealous of noel... i'd love to be a 17 year old flaming idiot just like him... hey, who wouldn't!!!!
can ya stop just for a second, and listen to what you are saying Amon... why don't you just shut da f**k up if you don't know what you are babbling about...
i tried to free myself from his foolishness a while back... he just wouldn't quit... now you're jumping in where you have no need to be...
yeah... the mods will do the right thing... they'll ban all three of us... that'll teach ya not to fan the flames of a simmering fire the next time you get the urge to play judge dread...
--Mike
Try again.
