Would this interest anyone, though not offering anything yet?
Recently I put together some code for an action / arcade game which uses an isometric perspective (pre rendered backdrops), has collision support, user defined key mappings, support for mainly melee combat but is easily extended to include ranged combat, single player or two player simultaneously on the same PC (easily extended to more). It is written in blitzplus and is unlikely to perform well under blitz3d due to the heavy reliance on writepixelfast.
In my opinion one of my main weakpoints in creating games is
that my imagination and creativity regarding the actual content is lacking - one of the reasons I originally put together my Gauntlet remake/clone is that most of the design work is already done for you when you are remaking an existing game.
As a hobby developer I'm not interested in making any money from the games I create - I simply enjoy writing code, playing simple games that are easy to get into.
Anyway, I'll try to get to the point -
what I'd like to offer, although not offering at this stage is this:
If anyone is interested in having *almost* complete control over the design, style, story, setting, gameplay of an isometric arcade / action game then I am tempted to offer my skills to assist in putting together the game's code (using my isometric game/engine code as a basis).
I'm not asking for someone to 'make art for my game' as I'm willing to purchase 3d models (primarily those available from various Poser models available online) or create them myself as the need arises.
As the title says - I'm not offering anything yet, but if this interests anyone then let me know either by email (address in profile) or in this thread.
Thanks for reading this.
