Best demo ever

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Best demo ever

I was just browsing thru my demo collection and watching some great releases, when I found this from Assembly '05:

Iconoclast [by Andromeda]
download link: http://www.scene.org/file.php?id=297559

This demo has the most impressive engine I have ever seen... the amount of stuff going on in each scene is unbeleviable considering how well it runs on my rig.

This demo impresses me more than any game or gfx-demo I have ever seen! .... Just had to open up ;) I'll shut up now...

Just check it out.

Isn't it amazing how little progess has been made in 15 years and with computers several orders of magnitude more powerful?

Do check out these :P

Esp. the zoomer in Contour .. did you know that this demo was made in so-called 'company-time'? :P

The intros are also quite classic..

You mean how my 2.4 ghz system chugs when rendering a mere 23,000 polygons in 640x480 with software rendering? :-)

I love demos. Still got loads of Amiga PD disks. Used to make my own in Assembly, never distributed them though.

@ Bouncer:

Yes, I was thouroughly impressed with that demo. There was
alot of stuff going on in htere that you just don't see in
realtime anywhere else. (mesh-morphing, mesh-slicing,
light-projected wavey things, etc.) It was all a visual
treat.

I wonder what the hell he used to make it?
