What's the most exciting thing written with Blitz?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What's the most exciting thing written with Blitz?

I noted that someone had written a Spectrum computer emulator in Blitz which struck me as fascinating - http://www.codersworkshop.com/viewshowcase.php?id=405.

I'd never have thought someone could do that with Blitz.

So, what amazing things (NOT games) have been written with Blitz products?

gile[s].

Gile[s], definietly.
Weren't some older versions of CShop written in Blitz?

A lot of BlitzMax is written in BlitzMax, that is pretty exciting.

gile[s] is cool. As is PaceMaker.

There are lots of cool tools made in Blitz.

Fontext is not too shabby. :)

Halo's work always is pretty exciting (well the exciting work anyway) :)

The most exciting things ever written in Blitzbasic is without a doubt my own programs.
Now, this is highly subjective and others might not actually agree :D

It sure will be my game when I'll make it! ;-)

My engine, 3D WorldStudio (well, most of it, last I checked), and gile[s]. Perhaps swapping 3DWS and gile[s] if you want the correct order.

I have to vote for the Jill of the Jungle remake that was being done in BMax. But, I am biased as that is one of my favorite DOS games.

Age of Kingdoms was great. I still play the demo alot!

I was lined up to buy the cool 2D OpenGL engine he wrote for B+ and the GUI addon he wrote for B+. They were great and things I could really use. It is a shame he dropped these.

It would be interesting to see if it was possible to create all game content with Blitz-only tools - Quill3d /Tatoo for modelling and texturing , Quill3d / CShop for modelling and level building, gile[s] for lightmapping , PaceMaker/Animb3d for animation - just need a good 2d art tool....

just need a good 2d art tool....
Like this?

gile[s] again. An awesome tool.

Like this?
*GASP* BlitzCoder!!!! :P
That looks like a pretty nicely done app... I like the zoomed view in a seperate window.

I was pretty excited by my Gamebase64 collector that downloads ALL C64 games :-)

Platypus.

Platypus
I've always thought that Platypus is hugely over-rated. Graphics aside, its pretty poor as a game.

And anyway, he said NOT games. :P

I read no further than "What's the most exciting thing written with Blitz?" :)

Giles.

seems a lot of people on this forum only read the header and not the body ;-)
