Commercial games like Oblivion and Quake4 do not seem encumbered by msn popping up in the background but my blitzmax exes' timing gets jerky as hell.
Is this normal?
My Blitz Plus exes used to go bad when Avast popped up its window. It would try to draw over the full-screen game screen and half succeed.
Have you experimented with using a windowed app that hides its title bar (user32) and occupies the entire screen? There's a few games that do that, and it's a good idea in my opinion.
Note that it probably loses you quite a few frames, and won't work on computers that don't support windowed 3d (if you're using 3d).
Pickles@ it hurts when you've got multiple monitors set up though, as moving the mouse across to another screen and clicking will bring you out of the game.
Not MSN, but other popups destroys my Oblivion.
