Flash container, please check compatibilities

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Flash container, please check compatibilities

I've been having some issues with my old flash container lib, it was causing a lot of ntdll.dll errors! I've reworked the stuff so that the framework *should* now be compatible with all windows systems, a Mac version is also in the pipe.

If you have a moment could you please let me know if this works/fails on your system and your spec.

The container will fail if it can not find the file "c:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\mmTour\segment1.swf" I use this for the demo.

Here is the container .exe : http://indiepath.com/public/flash_container.rar

Thanks :)

Works fine here (in a small window). What you got planned for it?

The current implementation is for igLoader, for serving adverts and having fancy loading screens. As soon as any bugs are ironed out I will extend the library so that it could be used to embed flash into any application. Full flash movie control is already working so you could for instance use a flash GUI within your games.

Jake, does it work on your machine?

Well, I get the small window display, and shortly after that, the error message you mention.

@big10p, you get the ntdll.dll error? What are you OS specs?

Tim.

The error I get is because it can't find the file. However, the path quoted uses double backslashes, for some reason:
The movie can't be loaded ("c:\\WINDOWS\\Help\\Tours\\mmTour\\segment1.swf")

I'm still on win98SE here, Tim.

works fine on mine, ran it 10 times, even multiple instances. No errors, could this be it?

Ah ok big10p, perhaps you could stick a .swf file in that location and rename it? Cheers.

@Grey - Shall I start dancing now or wait till someone (BinaryMoon) breaks it!

no, don't dance yet, put it into IGloader first and then I'll test it again.

Tim: I stuck a .swf file at that path but still get the same error. I renamed the file to segment1.swf. TBH, I don't even know what a .swf file is. Do I need something else installed to play it?

swf = shockwaveflash at a guess :-)

Well, I have a flash player installed. Dunno if it's up-to-date, though.

hmmmn maybe its a 98 problem, time to warm up the old computer.

do you need a hand bump starting it?

big10p - where did you get the swf file from?

Working fine here, except for the tour-iness of it all. <shudders>

Works fine here (tested on 2 comps), no problems :)

cheers,
Lee.

OKay looking good, now to extend it to render entire HTML pages.

Works fine here.

Works perfect here.

:)

Beaker: I just did a *.swf search of my HD and picked one.

Works perfect.
