Despite the politic of silence from Blitz Research,
is it too difficult to get a detailed report about what
exactly have been modified within each version?
... how much does it take? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? ... is it too much?
During the last week I have been doing all kind of test
with 1.90 to 1.96 ... and I'm still getting better results with 1.90 ...
Framerate in .90 is noticeable higher than in .96,
scenes where I get 30fps in .90, I get 20fps in .96, and this is a huge difference,
...I don't remember well but it has been said something about "the rendering
engine was *modified* to get more compatible with newer hardware"..
... now, should B3D work better with newer hardware than with old one?
... others have said they don't get fps-lost, others were getting a fps-increase,
but again ... how many of you have a large enough project to confirm a fps lost or increase???
In the other hand,
version .96 has the movie-memory-leak gone,
and even, a "feature" no one tell us, ... the loading time is really faster ... I can load my
levels in half of the time I used to ...
... now , could we get a confirmation that something was improved
concerning the loading time, or is it that B3D get different each
time it is compiled??? (... the version.txt file is a shame, really)
At the end I don't understand WHY the rendering engine was modified if it
was working well ...
Don't know what you say guys but I'm thinking about the idea of distribute the
game with two exes, one compiled with .90 and another with .96 to let the player choose,
but this is so unprofessional and I don't like it at all ...
