to make me go out and learn how to speak Espanol...

wow... what else can i say...

no... no way... that can't be Blitz3D!!!

it seems like even in todays hi powered, pixel shadered, dx9 world of graphical eyecandy... ole Blitz3D just keeps on hangin tuff...

if you haven't seen these already, head on over to the galeria for the full sized versions...

I've seen enough island scenes with cube mapped this and bump mapped that to last a lifetime. It's sad to see such talent wasted on making pretty renders. That's the problem with 3D, you spend so much time trying to make things look good, and complaining that you need DX9 support to put a pixel on the screen, that nothing in the line of actual gameplay ever gets accomplished.

But yea, they look nice.

Eikon: Yeah I agree, look nice, but where is the game!

GA: I thought I would take a look at your site, as I have never looked at it before. I feel I must make one suggestion: Please remove 80% of the "Jake Birkett" refferences, please!

No offense here, it just got tiring to have to read "inspired by Jake Birkett" and "Jake Birkett wrote this" or "this was blessed by Jake Birkett" every other sentence. Between the GA site and http://www.jbcomputersolutions.com.

Honestly, no offense intended, just an honest opinion.

Dark Half: Jake Birkett just likes talking about himself in the third person. Just like how Noel Cower often refers to himself as The Mighty Slogulor.

*Prods the squishy alien eyeball*

Its not a big deal, I just figured I would give him my honest opinion about the matter.

The site is nice to look at and all, but seeing "Jake Birkett" every other word got annoying.

heh, yeah. They do look nice. But like Eikon I'd like to see some gameplay. Blitz makes for a great renderer when you don't have to interact with it and have a lot of control of how people see it and it is drawn. Once you add all the gameplay and CPU intensive stuff the engine starts to show it's age in dramatic fashion.

hmm, well the idea behind putting Jake Birkett on JBComputersolutions.com was that in theory, cos I'm a bona fide Limited company, I didn't want to say "I" all the time, so I listed my name like I was a member of the company. It's just that there are not other members to balance it out.

However, I hear you and think that removing my name from the games page, off every game would be good. I'll leave it on the links page though as those two are valid observations (lead tester and based-on).

Yeah, that would be a good idea.

Again, I hope this didnt come off as a cut, and more constructive criticing.

Being the only memeber of your company isnt bad, just let the company take credit for your accomplishments. If there are certain parts the company (IE you) didnt do, then credit those by name.

Even if you get other employees (be it by contract or full hire), the company should still take credit for their work whilst they are employeed/contracted. The only time they personally take credit for something is on THEIR resume.

Just some food for thought.

done it. I've received good criticism for the web site and it has helped me improve it.

"we want demos...", "we want demos...", "whaaaahhhh, wwaaaaaaaaaahhhhh, waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh"...

you know, you guys are worse whiners than i am...

first of all, it's a gallery... not a demo download center...

secondly, of the three pics i sampled, only one is of a game... the other is of a utility, and the other is a demo... and the one game that i refer to has a link to a demo...

ahhhh, i'm wastin my time... just look who i'm tryin to talk to...

:)
