RSS Feeds for this site. *Please vote*

RSS seems to popping up on lots of sites I visit.
Firstly, for those unaware of what RSS is please see:

Currently, when I visit a site (via Opera) which features RSS I get a nice little symbol in the address bar.

Example:

Simply clicking this gives me the option to subcribe to the RSS feeds. Then, when a post, update, notification occurs I receive notification and a link to the article. This works in the same fashion as receiving emails.
Its safe too since it only involves basic text and a link.
Equally, If I no longer want the news feeds I just remove the site from the Newfeeds list.

Anyhow, it would be nice to have RSS running on the official Blitz site. Which could then send feeds under the following changes:

* Front page - Latest Blitz Research News
* New community posts (excl. General discussion and the likes)
* Updates to BlitzMax, Blitz3D, BlitzPlus
* New mods available (Syncmods)

Yes, RSS is very nice, and very suitable for a information site.

Don't know who can do it for Blitz site, but if there's on should be good.

I think nullmind made RSS feeds for CW. Haven't seen him
in ages though.

Personally I don't use RSS... But I understand why others do... My vote is for RSS

I have used a free service to create an RSS feed for the "Community News" off the Blitz homepage:

http://feed43.com/5844207825576022.xml

Feed43 works really nicely. I've also created other feeds for some people's worklogs! I can give set-up details if you can't work out the parsing syntax needed.

I wonder if that same thing could be done with a local browser extension...

For this sort of site due to the nature of its members, RSS feed is a really good idea.

I don't bother with them myself, but normaly they are used for quick news over the last few days and thats it. If your a frequent visitor its often not much use.

Never seen them used in interesting ways, so I can't comment.

The point is that if you had an RSS feed you only had to visit the site when something interesting happened (about once a month or so), rather than come by every day to watch the drama unfold.

yeah, just saying that because like many, I check the bb site alongside my email in the morning :)
