Wow - Its a surface a bit like LCARs on Star Trek TNG - You can re-assign any part of the screen to be anything at all - any input including a shopping basket for purchasing 'on-line'.

I'd day it is more like programming with visual smalltalk. You have a set of components and you cna wire them together and they automatically know how to talk to each other.

For instance there was the baseball card panel, when connected to the display stats panel the stats panel showed the stats for the player in the card panel. When the stats panel had a value changed the card panel displayed the correct card.

Another example is the panle that controlled the big screen. When a video from one of the other panels was dragged to it the screen played it.

i don't like the whole tile idea... rather have virtual tiles... I'd end up losing my good tiles.. and its a really nasty ploy to charge you like 50$ for new tiles...

I don't know if I believe the video. It's too easy to fake something like that.

Also, would have been cooler if the cards themselves contained screens and were self sufficient rather than just being something you overlay on a screen. What's the point of overlaying a card on the screen? You could just as easily have a button in the top corner of each square of the screen with a drop down box that allows you to select which component is at that location.

It's neat as an experimental interface, but totally worthless for any real world use.

Now that screen that could detect multiple touches simultaneously and worked like the one in the Minority Report, that was cool and might actually have some use, if they can solve the fingerprints and smudges issue. :-)

... I like the bit at the end... with the projected window on the table to act as like a second monitor... much better than the tiles thing...

Sure the actual things being done weren't TOO special, but you've gotto think of the impliations of the idea.
