A variance that is nearly undetectable, infact, the summer in the northern hemisphere coincides with being the farthest from the sun and the winter being closest to the sun. Since the angle the earth is facing during those times is far more important.
To see any effect, the earth would have to travel millions of miles into a deeper orbit, placing us nearer to jupiter and the asteroid belt, causeing the earth to be pelted with thousands of objects ultimately slowed orbit due to jupiter's massive gravity, and the final destruction of earth as it falls into the sun over a period of 10 million years.
