grand prix legends
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/grand prix legends A real classic, once the graphics are modded with the latest offerings it doesn't look half bad either.
Only thing that annoyed me slightly was the dumbed down physics applied to the AI cars (I think this was to help fps on the PC's of the time). Can be a bit frustrating when they spin on the spot to resume their race after an 'off'.
But, yeah, a milestone of a racing game (sorry simulation).
Not touched it much since i bought LFS, but used to race on-line ages ago. Perhaps we could sort something out...

My favourite racing game. Haven't played it for a couple of years. One of these rare games/sims where you can finish 5th form last ans still feel proud and happy with your performance. The modded version of Rouen is my favourite track. Some really tricky corners and nice altitude changes combined with the nice flat-out back straight. Good Stuff!
oh ya the 2004 update is the best, if you have the full version already, just download the 2004 demo (fan made) and drop in the tracks from your full version, bingo updated car models/textures/tracks etc etc it rocks
Best racing game ever.
Definately get the 2004 update.
The 2004 update works with all tracks as well, so if you don't have the original, you can still download the 2004 demo and then download many of the free tracks out there.
If you have the original, you can just copy the tracks off the original disc into the tracks folder. There are graphical updates available for all the tracks which should be installed as well.

Heh, I remember seeing a trailer for this game back in 1997,
I think, after buying SODA off-road racing. That was another
amazingly fun/hard Sierra game.
You guys think I should go search for an old copy of GPL?

you should, its the best
Just playing the 2004 demo here.
Great vehicle graphics.
I love blowing the engine up by revving the hell out of it in neutral.
The crashes are great too!
Got any links to 'good' alternative tracks?
