A thread on osx86project.org has confirmations from several testers (http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11731) that the procedure works on the 17" iMac, the Mac mini, and the MacBook Pro. Just goes to show that Apple pretty much use low/mid range off the shelf PC components in their new intel macs.

Still cool though, as it would be worth buying one to easily port your games to mac and still have windows for the bulk of your computing.

What about OSX on a PC. I have my MacOSX tiger disks from my MacMini and wondered if I could install this on a PC. I know PearPC works but that's not what I mean.

Not unless its an intel Mac mini, an intel version of Tiger, and you find a hack.

Well, it is an Intel Mac Mini and the latest DuoCore one. So it might work? [edited naughty stuff out]

Then yeah, I imagine there's a hack around, if not, there probrably will be :)

Maybe to make things easier, Apple may as well develop Mac OS X for the regular Intel Pentium-based, and the AMD Athlon-based PCs as well. They could develop their OS for an x86-based PC to get some more business from the general market.

It also depends on your PC hardware -- while the basic architecture is the same, you do need either an Intel P4 CPU or an AMD64. (The 32-bit AMD Athlon does not support the SSE2/SSE3 extensions that OS X requires).
Additionally, your graphic card needs to be supported by the mac as well. Not all 'PC' cards have drivers for the mac, so unless you have one that does, OS X won't be able to use your display device properly on your generic PC.
