Windows Requestor Woes

Recently whenever I call up the Windows file requestor to load or save in certain programs like Ultimate Unwrap 3D the program just quits. At first I thought it was a spyware problem but I have tried various spyware products, Ad Aware, SpyBot and Microsoft Antispy and nothing is found. Does anyone have a similar problem or know what could be causing it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it`s driving me nuts. It`s not been long since I reinstalled WindowsXP Home either so I`m stumped.

That's weird. The first thing I'd try is: identify the Dll or exe responsible for the file requestor (sorry, I don't know what this is, off the top of my head), and replace it - either from the installation CD or the net.

Might be worth giving your registry a clean, too.

I've had this problem before but was never sure what caused it. It seemed to happen more when certain programs were running at the same time. Does it happen every single time you try to open or save something in any program, or is it more intermittent?

Intermittently. It`s really annoying too.

it's the common dialog dll/ocx... but I can't remember which one that is off the top of my head.
