Complete Human vol 1 (male characters)

Oooh, these look good - on the front page of the site.

http://www.gamelab3d.com/

Out of interest, who would rather they came with basic animations already? Unanimated they are no good to me coz I can't be bothered to do that sort of stuff.

On a brighter side - someone could animate them - volunteers please.

This cropped up in BlitzLand a couple of weeks ago - someone else made some static characters. However, people like The Games Creators and Idigicon animate their stuff - I assume coz a lot of people won't buy static stuff.

... is this your stuff puk?

--Mike

Nope - I'm a critical-level coder - not a modeller.

In my opinion, if someone is going to go through the trouble rigging the meshes they should (at the least) add idle, walk and run.

i agree... the basic stuff... right...

this is gonna wind up costing about $60 US... for each pack...

--Mike

come on noel, say something.

Hi guys,

Yep, you are right. We should have really added basic animations. We will be adding basic animations for each character in set 1 and in the following sets and post the news again when everything is ready.

Anyone who has already bought set1 will be sent the set again with the added animations.

Thanks for your feedback :-)

Cheers,
Lee.

great attitude Opcode... way to go...

--Mike

Well, I am glad I raised it - coz that may just generate sales.

I continue to serve the community.

Cool! I will purchase them once the animations are added. I could always use a gaggle of pedestrians to blow up/plow over/mutilate.

Just to let you guys know, basic animations (Idle, Walk and Run ), have now been added to all 12 characters in the set.

Info on the site has been updated, and you can download a small video of the animations included for every character before buying them from

http://www.gamelab3d.com

Blitz3D ready format has also been added to the animated format as well now :-)

Cheers,
Lee.

the video is only 98kb? it does not run.

It's a very small .wmv file, not sure what the problem is Mark, iv'e just downloaded and ran it on 2 comps here, and it works fine here.

Lee.

strange, it plays in windows media player but not winamp. sorry about that.

very cool animations. the character's feet in the idle animation seem to be sliding back and forth... or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

"Opcode" - you did that very quickly - I am impressed.

How easy was it to do?

I am just thinking that you could do more animations and sell them as different packs - might get away with charging slighty higher for more animations. Some people will just want the model, some will want the model and basic animations, some will want as many animations as possible.

I'm just thinking that, if these are easy to animate, then Large it up. Other basic anims are 'die' and 'attack' - perhaps more than one type of each - 'jump' is another one, 'impact' (like they got punched/hit), maybe even a head-look left and right.

Just ideas.

@markd - thanks for spotting that, idle is now fixed, and iv'e updated the video on the site.

@puki - it was fairly easy to add these basic animations.

Thanks for the ideas about the other packs.

awesome. i'm gonna purchase these bad boys soon and make a video of them stoogin' around in a city.

I'm bumping this thread on purpose. Someone might be interested in this stuff anyway.

In fairness this guy never got the attention all the other people in my sig did as it wasn't fantasy/medieval RPG stuff.

Currently I am posting links (to the individual sites) over at The Games Creators and it is only fair that this guy is added.

I'm trying to get more media in for us by getting communities to exchange info. I'll start on the likes of Wildgames, Genesis, Devmaster, sourceforge, agency9, Ogre, etc later.

This is on the basis that if this community has so much media, then there must be others out there advertising on other forums/communities - and I reckon this is surely going to result in increased sales from people in my sig and people I don't yet know about.

We don't need to buy media anymore - you've taught us how to steal it from commercial games! ;)

Seriously though, I've come to the same conclusion as most other people on here - purchasing media is a waste of time. I've bought my fair share of stuff in the past, and I suppose it can be good as placeholders, but who would release a game that has "shared" media?

It is difficult though... I am another coder that sucks at art - be it 2D or 3D!

I forgot about this one too - right media, but too low poly for me:

http://polycountproductions.com/fantasygamepackage/

I'll wack it over to TGC now.

Mmm, changes going on at their site

Looks like they made a game - wonder if it is B3D? Wonder if it means more media?

I'm pretty sure screenshots for that game is in the gallery here.
