I need a few apps

I need a 3 apps.

1-I recently saw a coool thread about apps that report how much HD space each directory is taking up. I downloaded one of those and i saved it. Now i needed it and i spent 30 minutes manually searching my whole PC and i couldnt find it, and googling blitzbasic.com to find the thread. Nothing. So can someone PLEASE give me a hint what the names of those programs were? Or just a link to the damn thread.(BTW: When i click on a google result link it always gives me Internal Error and thread doesnt appear, so i have to go cached)

2-I need a good reminder program like something that is very configurable and that doesnt take up tray or taskbar space while its running in the background and that will remind me of stuff at a specific hour of a day or every day of the week etc. Any suggestions?

3-I desperately need a replacement for windows explorer. I cannot be stuffed opening 10 windows all the time. I need something like windows commander but better and more modern, preferably with some sort of tabs. Windows Explorer now keeps crashing when i load a directory with WMVs in thumbnail view and i am sick of trying to fix it. Dead SICK!!!!!!!!!!!! WMV is just an example, weird stuff happens all the time (i tried switching off DEP). And i googled but i cant find a thing. I just need a human to give me some advice, so dont tell me im lazy to search. I'm asking nicely, and hints will be appreciated.

(PS I'm also getting some sort of error box whenever ANY program closes, since after installing SP2, but i'll have to loose some hair on my own over that)

I'm sorry for what could be a useless response but it sounds like you need to do a fresh install.

If my system had that many problems I would be wiping it clean.. :)

I want the opposite of this. I'm fed up with XP telling me I have unused icons on the desktop, Files waiting to be written to CD, Updates ready for installation, recommendations and whatnot.

The problems you describe, I feel your pain.
It sounds like you need to upgrade to Windows 98.

3 - Directory Opus is well worth paying for. I can't recommend it highly enough. Anything less (eg Windows Explorer) now feels 'cut down' and limited - like it's a Lite version because I haven't paid the shareware fee. :o)

another vote for directory opus... just when I think I've got a handle on this program and know everything it does... I find another feature that is totally relevant and useful.

Hey that could actually be a good idea (i think) to reinstall windows. But... seeing how long it took to get SP2 running i'm not so sure :P
