What's required for playing a ps2 online exactly?
I've read that is ethernet based i think but i'm still not sure. will I be able to use my recently purchursed bt router/wireless thingy me gib?
Is it worth the effort?
Lastly, will the fact my ps is matrix infinity modded have any bearing on my ability to play games? I can't wait to play metal gear solid online.
plug you PS2 into the router with a straight through ethernet cable.
Also need a network adapter for the PS2 if you havent gotten one already, as for whether or not its modded has a bearing on playing online, I'm not too sure, but given Sony's "do it yourself" attitude with regards to game developers having to setup their own system for playing online unlike Microsofts Xbox Live!, I'd doubt it. Although there is that DNAS search alot of the games do upon joining an online game....
Also makes life easier, setup a static IP to your PS2 and assign it as the DMZ address for the router, makes creating/joining games a lot less of a hassle.
Slimline PS2s have the network adaptor built-in.
I gotlr a slimline one, but never used it onlyin - does it5 work of an normal interner conneneton
'A BT internet connection is required'.
By that I would assume a DSL signal.
I've never tried my PS2 online yet. I've quite a few games with the "Net-Play" logo on them too. Might be worth a go tomorrow just to see if it works.
Well, wasn't my post a great help! :)
