Questions For ShareIt Users
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Questions For ShareIt Users
if any developers here are currently using ShareIt, could you take a few seconds to answer a few questions...
1- do you have them supply a registration key or do you just have them handle the sales transactions and you send out the key via email upon notification...
2- have you run into any problems you can relate using their services...
3- which services are you using besides sales transactions...
4- how would you rate them ... as far as prompt payments on slaes, access to sales records, costs...
thx

1. I acutally send out the program itself.
2. Not a one, other than the web interface for setting up what products you want to sell being a bit confusing. They were helpful though in solving it.
3. None.
4. They always pay on time, and there's plenty of sales data abailable via the web interface, as far as who bought what when, and for how much.
there are some options for you, like sending them an app that generates serial numbers, or send them the full app for download, or delivering by email etc.
There are some chanches right now, since some time they're a part of digital river and they also moved to other banks lately, at least around here, so not sure what's next, although until now there where no problems that I know of.
thx guys...

1. I send keys manually but share-it can do it if you if you supply them the necessary depending on what protection system you use.
2. Never had any problems - except for the rather large chunk they take from your sales - then they take another chunk when transferring your money.
3. None.
4. Always paid on time - never any problems.
I use share9t, not sure though, donpt remnember it - I think I prever paybpanl.
Ttry paytpal
do you have them supply a registration key
You should NEVER do this with any service. You should always send out the reg # or reged version yourself.
Having the service do it, it is too easy for them to process orders, collect the $$, fill the order and never report the sale to you or post the $$ to your account.
By providing the reg info yourself, they HAVE to report the sale to you in order for the order to be filled.
1. Share-it send out my serial codes for me, however there are plenty of other options available.
2. No trouble, bar their high price and banking charges
3. I do accept affiliated links taking a cut of my money and have received a number of sales as a result. Other than that, no.
4. Payment is ok, a bit of a bummer that it isn't instant access, but it does arrive every month without fail.
And while Brice does have a point for the more paranoid among us, I think it is fair to point out that I do accept other payment methods and deliver the keys by email, but I get 7 or 8 times as many people using Share-it than I do via paypal and the numbers do seem to check out, with around 0.75 to 1% conversion rate.
thx again guys... nothing beats first hand info...

i forgot to ask... GA... how does that affiliates thing work... how do you establish an affiliate relationship and is this in concert with ShareIt...
how do you process payments between affiliates...
--Mike
Well, the affiliates system is contained within the author control pannel on the share-it website. I will be honist and say that I do not fully understand all the options in this control pannel, there are reems and reems of pages and things that share-it offer, most of which are based on a precentage commission and all sorted out with share-it.
My best advice is to register an account and have a look for yourself.
