The Crappiest Character Ever

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/The Crappiest Character Ever

Well I was working late one night, the tiredness and winegums told me to sleep. When I awoke I discoverd that I had created the crappiest character ever.

Ninja-Cube

So I wonder what your idea for the crappiest character ever would be for a game?...and no, jarjar doesn't count :)

The paperclip from MS Word still wins...

That's actually pretty cool

I can't stand that stupid paperclip help system

Sweeeeet! That guy looks awesome!

I can see it... NinjaCube vs the OBloids! Ninjacube has to rescue sweet princess Triann from the evil invading OBloids... he can be assisted by his trusty sidekick Rhombus! (who can deform to fly... float.. and also kick OBload butt!!!)

boom boom -

I don't know how to tell you this but...

Ninja-Cube is not a cube - he's a bit too tall to be a cube.

And...

He's ace - he's definately not the crappiest character I have ever seen at all - on fact I bet he'd be great in a game.

IPete2.

Is he tofu?

I like him too, and you'd be surprised how much expression you can get out of a bendy cuboid!

I was playing around today, and drew out his evil nemasis "Worm"

He has a french accent, and doesn't really have any abilities other than shaking his fist, and commanding the vast hordes of enemies with intent

Wow... I need to try your style of creative thinking here. That guy is awesome. Its got that cartoony almost satire kind of feel. It could be cool. Using lame ideas always works great. Just look at EarthWorm Jim!

I spent all day rigging him up. Well swearing at my PC. Hes going to be made into a little short animation i feel. Something abit more spectaculer than this:

Lol I photoshoped that original picture and came up with:

But I don't know wether to keep the sword or not? What do you think?

That thing looks perfectly suited for some weird soft-body verlet physics driven platformer...

Man

I think you have stumbled onto something really great here - I love that action in the video.

IPete2.

oh god you people are bored

I too like the ninja cube.

The white bands on his headband make him look more like 80's Jogger Cube, and the sword you have there is more of an arab sword than a ninja sword.

The ninja sword in the middle there is curved, but it is the same width all along its length.

Also, he doesn't need a hand to hold the sword with. Guys with floating hands have been DONE. :-)

Gummy Ninja. He (she?) honestly does look delicious and juicy. I can picture Gummy Ninja fending of hoardes of rotten toothed kids.

Characters w/o hands also have been done. Don't the singing vegetables, vegitales or something like that, have no (visible) hands? It seems to me like whatever they picked up, it just floated. Of course i dont think the vegetables were ever made into a game. if you were to make a game out of the ninja it would be pretty sweet.

... strictly speaking, ninja as members of the peasant class were not allowed to carry swords... hence the adaptation of the sai, flail and other 'menial' tools to more martial tasks

true, but something tells me he's not going for realism here.

lol as markd said, i am not :)

Anyway there is not really a 'ninja sword' as BlackJumper said they where oftern peasents who took weapons from battlefields, or stole them. so there range of weapons varied from sharpened farm tools and wooden poles, to katanas and samuri swords.

infact here is a picture of a few types of swords they might use (well replicas) http://www.knightsedge.com/swords/battle-ready-swords-g.jpg

:p

Anyway, it was just a concept, so i will try a more stright sword, but i need a slightly thicker sword so it shows up well in the animation

yes yes, and Ninjas are Chinese and the first one was a crossdresser.

lol!!! Oh now the secret is out DampeS8N!!!

Seriously Side platformer...

AND if Worm is French all he can really do is {POST EDITED BY USER BECAUSE OF GALLIC SLUR!!!} um... never mind

http://www.chrisbate.com/Capture.mov - Been working on a little animation with the fella. I really should get a move on!
