Hey peeps - don't forget there are various Blitz specific IRC channels - called #blitzbasic, #blitzmax, #blitzcoder, #blitzlounge, #codersworkshop, etc
Feel free to use them - open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can meet up with people there to talk about Blitz coding and stuff. Need a quicker answer than you get on the forums - well, if enough people are in IRC, you may get an instant answer.
So, what are you waiting for - off you go - you might catch "Mark Sibly" and "Skidracer" in there - not every night, but then there is nothing stopping you being in there every night, whilst you are coding away.
Any queries on how to access the channel - then ask away. Other than that, off you go.
I have a few questions:
(1) Do you get free bacon when you visit a channel?
(2) Can you large the bacon?
(3) When does Mark Sibly plan to implement the bacon module for BlitzMax?

Yeh, poor "Becky Rose" did get a battering from "Sarge" - however, "Sarge" seems to have dissapeared - we've not seen him for 3 months.

Yeh. IRC is kind of a higher level of the Blitz community - we have sweeping powers of control and all the gossip that gets deleted from the forums is always Larging about in IRC. Sometimes we even just get some girls in for the hell of it. We got our own fridge too.
On what server I can find these channels? I've tried Efnet, DALnet and IRCnet... ?!

Sorry bouncer, but your entire ISP is banned from #blitzcoder. Nothing I can do about it at my access level (I'm a lowly moderator). It's banned because of Nawi's behavior and attempts at ban evasions.
Yeh, we will fix it in #blitzbasic as soon as possible - still - there isn't a banlist in #blitzlounge so you can roost in there with the boys.

Most times i go to IRC (the blitz channels or for any other engines) i meet a load of hostile people. They just go, what are you doing, are you sure youre any good, no i think you suck show us proof youre any good, stop boasting and admit youre like us "sitting all day on IRC and achieve nothing". Im sorry but i honestly think that the people on IRC channels are way way grumpy, that is when they're not AFK. I only use IRC of personal communication when i cant find someone by other means. Not only talking about blitz channels, but in general thats my experience.
I've never used IRC in my life, and don't plan to. I'm scared. :P

Moderators on #blitzcoder are me, Snarty, Specis, Cicero, PoedBoy (aka Orca), and morduun.
#codersworkshop is owned by me and is not frequented, so it's pretty dead. However, I did use it to kickban cyberseth from his own channel -- that was fun as heck.
#blitzlounge.. well, I avoid #blitzlounge. Anything run by puki is a bad idea.
Lots of people like #blitzlounge - I don't ban people in there. More people in #blitzlounge tonight than any other channel.

No, it's mostly 'cause he moved in with his parents 'cause his mother is sick (or something along those lines) and he's not got time to deal with people like us.
Aside from that, it's also 'cause he's permanently and irrevocably banned from here. Same goes for Caff.
'Irrevocably' banned? Blimey, what did he do? I remember him posting some naughty words and stuff, but I know of at least one other person who behaved similarly, got banned, and were allowed back.

GFK came across as a miserable git at times, but he did make me laugh. :o)

Why is IRC time wasting? Most people on here are probably here to mess about with blitz. It's not like their wasting their valuable game making time :o) That said, i did get alot more done when i stopped going on IRC :o)
