Xbox 360 Live Question
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Xbox 360 Live Question
I've got me an Xbox 360, and I'm using ICS to connect via my PC to Live. I have a 3MBit broadband connection, but its taking about 2 hours to download a 543Mb demo from Xbox 'Marketplace'.
Is this normal behaviour, or could I have something set up wrong?
It does seem slow but I would guess that your connection to the XBOX Marketplace is not maxing out at 3mb. It may be that your not downloading at the full 3mb and instead could be downloading at around 1mb or less.
Yeah that's fairly slow ... but still it's 543MB!
You're getting 3Mbits per second?
Downloading 4,344 Mbits in 2 hours so ...
You're connection was only about 0.6 Mbits per second ...
Sound right?
Regardless of YOUR speed, the download speed is determined by the slower of the two, you or THEM.
Could be them.
2 hours for a 550mb file is nothing to be upset about lol. It's very rare that you get to max out your internet connection. And I doubt that MS want to reserve unlimited bandwidth for their demo's either.
I'd recommend starting at night, so it's there waiting for you when you get up in the morning :) saves a lot of impatient fretting ;P
ya its very slow.. I DL the PGR demo 1.3 gig if I recall in about 45 min. Oblivion trailer 720p 88mb in about 1 min last night.
BUT I was slow for a while, until I started checking my router. Which was smokin fast with PC, but not Live.. updated the firmware.. now im fast everywhere
Yeppers, 543MB is one BIG download. Go out for a walk, or something, while it's downloading. :)
