COD 1 UO 20:30GMT Sunday 26th

well I should be working on my game, but what the hell, you gotta let loose sometimes!

So IPete and I and possibly some others we know will be playing Call of Duty 1 United Offensive on Sunday 26th Feb at 8:30PM (U.K. Time). We may start with Base Assault and move onto Team Deathmatch.

If so I think it is £29.97 at Asda - I will have to save though - seriously - times are hard.

Tell me about it. I can't remember the last time I bought myself a treat (DVD, game, CD etc.) - probably over 2 years ago, now. :(

Use ebay dudes, it's way cheaper than shops! Get used (second hand) as well. Or go to Game/GameStation and look at the used stuff. I got CoD 2 for £19.99 at Christmas on one of those "game of the week offer". I got Broken Sword: Dragon blah (PS2) for £4.60 inc P&P and it was new! If you smoke, give it up and put the saved money in a game jar!, Go-on Big10p, CoD is better that Golden V. rollies any day! (On second thoughts, you need a new PC to play it, sorry, but there are loads of great older 3D games on ebay) OR spend less money on food and buy some cool games, "man cannot live on bread alone" and all that :-)

IPete2: couldn't say as I don't know how good that 3D card is CPU is OK, RAM is fine. You can always just run in 800x600 no fancy stuff.

Well I have a Geforce 6600 card in a P4 3.2Ghz and I can run the game fine, DX9 eyecandy and all that stuff looks great but you have to keep the res down, no higher than 1024*768 and you will probably get 30+ fps. Of course you can also switch it to DX7 mode which has none of the normal/bump map effects and looks more like cod1 but your fps will be far higher. The choice as they say is yours :D

cool well we're starting around 8:30, normally IPete2 finds a server and tells us which one via email or phone. If you're up for a game, email him later, look at his profile for an address, or email me I don't mind as my outlook runs all day long.

We are playing COD 1 United Offensive expansion pack with version 1.53 service pack added (I think)

FIRST we could try:

Royal Battalion in Base Assault to begin with.
The ping is low and currently there are only a few players - out of a max of 20.


Alternatively we may look at:

Kommando Blindfuechse 3
Again low ping and few users.

Lets try these Set Filters:
first 3 to NO
all the rest to YES or ALL

May change the Punkbuster filter later if need be.
