I finally got everything working. Databased, PHPed, and with 4 whole installments of content plus some character profile work.

I have had a lot of people contact me about making animations and games. If you know anyone what likes to do sci-fi comics, and someone who likes to paint (digitally or traditionally) sci-fi scenes and or characters, please send em my way.

There is special room set aside for Blitzers, since I wouldn't have ever be able to do this without help I got here along the way.

Should anyone make any games within the confines of the Time Bridge universe using any Blitz product. I will grant it a free level 2 license as the site describes. Normally your product could only be called level 3 A and I would maybe link to it. I will place a Time Bridge installment page that links to the game's site, not take a single dime of your sales, and include any and all characters from your game that you want me to inside my database.

This offer will never expire.

Depending on when you finish a game, that could mean thousands of dollars in savings and access to a large fan-base.

Once I start getting installments in a wider variety from other people, I will move the site to it's own URL and begin to sell ad space likely to be in the form of 3 or 4 small ads at the top and bottom of each installment... maybe less, maybe more. Whatever feels the least constricting.



And Mods, Since this contains an offer to all Blitzers, for all Blitzers, this should be considered Blitz related. So don't remove it, please.

I don't follow - might be due to huge quantities of bacon consumption. However, what's going on - is this a game - Star Trek stuff?

no.. its a world. Like middle earth or the expanded starwars universe.

Only it isn't fantasy like starwars.

It is a sci-fi world for people to create in. Games, movies, animations, comics, novels, short stories, role play, paintings, fan art.

My hope is that many games will be made within the universe, maybe not ever as many as Starwars or Dungeons and Dragons. However, if even a few are made that use the Time Bridge universe I will be happy.

I also wanted it to be open source somewhat. Mainly, because I think it will help the world take off but also because I want people to be able to make anything they want in the universe. One of my biggest problems with a lot of IPs is that the games made for them BLOW. If anyone can make a game in the Time Bridge universe and reap the rewards of a ready made world and a well established fan-base, then the games will be more likely to be of higher quality. At least thats the idea. Who knows if it will work in practice. Someone has to try.

I chose Sci-fi because it is dead. No one makes real sci-fi anymore. What people call sci-fi is really fantasy with space ships. From Dune to Starwars.

Bookstores lump fantasy and sci-fi in the same group, and the Sci-fi network plays a lot of fantasy even without space ships.

That bothers me. So I wanted to also create a world that follows real science, or at least theoretical science.

The most wild aspect of time bridge is the time bridge itself, which is on really iffy science ground. But it is a construct. Who knows what people will be able to do in 10 billion years.

Aside from the Time Bridge itself, everything at level 1 or level 2 license within the Time Bridge universe will be grounded heavily in science. Things that are actually possible with proven theory already in practice. Just taken to new form and levels that might not exist yet. Such as super fast computers or space ships that can travel at 50% of the speed of light.

Flying cars, and all the classic sci-fi things you would expect will all be made real at various stages of the timeline.

I can't help but think that you're going about things backwards, DampeS8N. Maybe you should complete a couple games in your Time Bridge universe before you bother thinking up licensing rules. Get the fan base first, then worry about how to rent out your intellectual property.

Frankly, as a programmer wanting to create freeware hobby games, I can't see any benefits here. I don't really care about the setting of my game - I'll leave that up to my artist (when I find one who'll actually get off his ass and push pixels.)

Also, Time Bridge isn't just for games. There are already people working on animations and comics, and a few people writing stories.

The site has only existed for a month and a half. I'm expecting a few installments from an animator in the coming weeks and a hopefully character drawings from several artists soon.

I had someone working on a game, but he ran out of steam (as seems to be the norm) and someone who might not want to be named from the Blitz forums has expressed interest... which reminds me... I need to climb on his back.

Its interesting story, I think you should write more :)

I'd like to read what adventures that happen when the crew goes back to the earth just before life on it begins ;)

Also you should be serious with this from the start so I suggest you do register a website timebridge.com directly, make it look more presentable with more stories and perhaps some graphics. It could pick up slowly with creative people if they get interested in the world and for that you need more content and stories ofcourse ;) So sit down and write lots more then you got now! :)

I have been spending most of my devided time on the inner workings of the site itself, now that it is complete, I can focus on putting more content up.

The next installment is a big one, it has taken lots of research due to the situation the twosome will be thrust into.

If you enjoyed the history thus far, you are going to really enjoy the rest of the events that revolve around Jaymie. I promise you won't see the next installment's events coming.

It is going to be called. "The Rave" possibly "The Rave (Part 1)" depending.

I'm sure that will get your imagination going.

I will be introducing a whole mess of characters in this next installment. With luck, I will have the time to finish it by next monday.

What don't you get? I mean, what aspect don't you get?

I mean... Do you not get how to use the site? Do you not understand the point? Do you not see why anyone would want to make a game in this world?

Ask a better question and I'll be glad to add it to the FAQ. Or if it isn't suitable to it, I'll do my best to answer it here... I don't know what to tell you.

just read some of it, if you find it interesting and start thinking there could be movie or some games based on this world then you will get it otherwise you will not get it and it's not for you :)

I think it's an interesting concept, what he is trying to do is create an interesting world and giving anyone who wants rights to create any kind of work, cartoons, movies, games based on this world and characters. You offen see lots of hobbiest game projects based on some cool movie/book/game and most of them are shutdown by creators of original work because the small guys don't have enough money to buy a license to make any derivative works.

You may ask your self, why do I need this, well you don't but if you happen to like some of storries and chracters and you want to try to make some high bugget movie, game, cartoon based on this you are free to do so ;)

OMG I love you Maximo... Its good to see that someone else other than me gets it! Fills me with a great deal of hope for Time Bridge's future.

Well you got talent for writting, it's an interesting story and the concept so everyone should encourage you not to give up :)

You could try making challenge to 2d/3d artists to make some images based on one of your stories or to make a chracter based on description. You could try posting and challenging guys on these sites to create graphics based on story you provide them:

If you offer to give winner something, perhaps graphical card or some present you may get lots of artwork done if people like the story/character/world etc :)

Maximo... If you are interested in maybe making some money by joining the creative team of Time Bridge, I would kill for someone who can make really awesome pictures for the site. Such as the graphics of the site and pictures in The First Sighting (Part 1) and Mission 2105. It would be really nice to have something slick and 3d to really set them apart...

Being part of the creative team would afford you an even cut of any money that is made while something you made is part of the site. Which could be forever. I'm just tossing the idea out there.

I'm quite busy with my projects but I'll keep an eye on you to see how this is developing :) Can't really jump into anything right now but I can give you advices etc :)

I had to ask. So far, no one who works at all in 3d has come forward, and that is what I really really want for the skin of the site. A 3d Time Bridge rather than the -ok- but really not outstanding images that are there... hehe.. Bonzai did an OK job on em... but I'd love to put something else in.

... I'm fairly sure seeing your giant head with giant sharp teeth floating at me will be psychological enough... and they could prolly pry at me pretty well too..

Erm, I get the picture with this, but, erm, why! I mean, it's not a book, you can do anything you want... Why build something in the 'Time Bridge' universe when there's nothing solid to work from!

I would actually understand if 'Time Bridge' was a book or something... But... I don't know!

As time goes on there will be more and more installments to the Time Bridge time line.

As for the basicness of the site, that was intentional. Ease of use, and really straight forward.

I am open to all kinds of ideas. Just tell me what you would like to see different.
