Thinking a bit on the matter..

If you have 2 canvases and you point with one finger in each canvas then it's not really shocking what all happens, just an extra event. But what if you point with 2 fingers in the same canvas?
Perhaps each touch adds a set of event-stuff (x,y,id,data,source etc.) to some array, and you simply need to run through the whole array of touches to process them?

You could probably do some cool stuff in a paint-program if Windows (and said program) allowed multiple mice input at once with something like this, I can really see companies like Wacom trying to take advantage of this in the future.

While some people create the interaces of the future, Microsoft and Apple with research budgets in the billions are figuring out better ways to make windows transparent, or to look like chrome.

Coincidence? Anyway I think (for some things) this interface is more usable than keyboard+mouse. This is something I would like to see in a 'real' product.

It would be cool if this technology became commonplace. I'm surprised at all the ideas and intuitive interface ideas they came up with and it's not even been given to the masses to play with yet.

It's special kind of glass, doesn't remeber any fingerprints nor does it store dirt on surface ;) that's what's delaying this to make it commercial, glass is too expensive :D

yeah I saw this on Indiegamer and wondered about grease from fingers too. Maybe nanobots needed to clean it off.

The idea of making glass which doesn't take on fingerprints probably isn't so far fetched. They've figured out a way to make glass for automobiles which won't fog up. I think they did that by covering the surface in tiny hairlike protrusions, which don't allow the droplets to make as much contact with the surface, and as a result, the droplets don't form sticky hemispheres, and instead form spheres and roll right off the surface.

So who knows, maybe that technology will prove resistant to allowing one's body oils to stick to it, and we can cover the screen with that.

The best solution would still be a mix of TS and real physical controls, knobs, sliders, buttons etc.

The point with TS is that you still need to watch where you touch. With physical controls (think synthesizers) you can almost blindly move you hand to a certain spot, if you feel a knob being there, then you can move it blindly.
(Think of the pitchbend wheel/stick, just to name something)
