shadows?

Any news on that stencil shadow stuff someone was working on.

I would love to see that.

It would turn blitz in to the doom 3 engine, eh ?

Also is it now possible to do normal mapping on animated characters?

Well no, but it's nice to dream.

some russian guy did an impressive lib, but doesn't have a decent pay method that I trust.

A lot of people have seen it before I think.

Yes yes, it's on top of my head every single day don't worry. I have some real work to do (gotta make a living) and that takes more time than one thinks. I'm still giving it my best. I wanted to release a beta by tomorrow but it _must_ wait. Trust me it's for the better of everyone.

Also spacemonkey may be implementing the edge detection itself in a dll, so that means it could even be faster before beta release.

Oh and, i may have another suprise in that there may be a way to get real soft stencil shadows. I'm not joking. A lot of it on paper, and little in code. :) I am keen to see it work as much as you are.

Thanks for your intrest!

yeah I should n't really bug you Lenn John, I realise what challenge ths must be. Still, can't wait to see it.

Evak , yeah I wonder if that is a good system, fast maybe , maybe not?

It's just about finding a chunk of uninterrupted time, that's all.

The russian guy's system runs at good speed and is generally well made. But it doesn't have the boned b3d shadow casting capabilities our system will have :P

sounds greata . good luck with that
