GT Legends: great game?

Anyone actually managed to play GT Legends? Is it any good? I don't know myself, as the Starforce drivers are crashing every time I try to play the game. How do you get past the blue screens of death in order to negotiate the opening menus? Is that part of the game? I've rebooted 6 times now and have yet to make it through to the racing.

Is copy protection supposed to stop you actually playing a game you've bought? It seems rather inconvenient from my point of view (even if it's quite comical that you have to take the DVD out to enter the serial code and then it gives an error message because you've taken the DVD out... to enter the serial code).

I got it to run ok, my biggest beef with the game is that my gamepad is too sensitive, so the slightest movement turns the steering full lock.

It seems really nice otherwise, and has full analogue clutch support for manual shifting. Just a shame that the steering is sensitive enough to make the game almost unplayable with my wingman rumble pad and old original Xbox controler.

Gamepad???????? Pah, get a wheel, preferably with a manual gearshifter (rather than paddles).

It's the best driving sim ever...no idea if it's a great GAME or not, as I just like thrashing the cars around the tracks, but it's certainly the best SIM ever made, far better than GPL, simply because I always felt GPL was a bit too slippery.

Also, it has THE BEST engine sounds I've ever heard in a game - full bass, sound volume way up - ah, heaven :)

Aaa Doh! PC gaming still at its best I see.

Shame- The game looks quite awesome!

I'd try it if it did not use some protection scheme with a poor reputation. Since it does, then I won't.

Starforce seems to be the current favorite protection system due to it being very hard to get round, but it has a nasty habit of falling if the disk is in a burner drive which is damn anoying as almost everybody has at least one in there pc nowadays. Of course there are now things that do get round it so it's ultimately only harming those of us that bought the originals.

Thankfully most seem to work in my plain dvd-rom drive, just take forever to check the disk at startup :(
