Where can I get a midi keyboard?

Where can I get a nice little midi keyboard controller for my soundcard on-line, U.K. only? I don't want a massive one (already got one) just need around 2-3 octaves and maybe a bender wheel. Don' need any built-in sounds, I just want to link to the PC. Also el cheapo is good. Thanks.

I got a Novation BassStation as my portable keyboard, I got a Roland D50 for the main.

You'd be surprised at the cost of them.

Try SOUND CONTROL if you have one near.

I bought a Novation after giving up trying to get "El Cheapo"- and "el cheapo "seems to be around £80 quid.

On the other hand, i've got a performance Yamaha PSR260 at home you can have for £80 too. (I know you dont want it anyway, just thought i'd mention that.)

getting it to you is a pain though.

"Novation BassStation" are wicked I recall reading about them in Future Music some years back. Are they still like £300, I'll find out.

What do you think? It's mono right? So how can I use it for chords if I use it purely as a mini controller, or can't I?

But for £100 more I could get a basstation! Notice el cheapo has gone out the window now, sigh.

My current keyboard is a Casio CZ-1 from 1986! Midi, touch sensitive etc, plus you can make all your own weird waveforms etc. Thing is it's knacked now, when I switch it on the display window has funny symbols in it and all the sounds sound like crazy chip music :-( It might still work for midi (it used to) but it's massive. Apparently they are quite rare now, if only I could get it repaired, but that seems totally unlikely, who has a 20 year old chip?

My price was fictional :) BTW, youd be lucky to find my keyoard on Ebay. Yamahaa re-released them all with crappy silver bodies. You could have mine for free if you could get to me.

Eww, what have they done to it?

Mine's got a cartridge slot- you can add drumloops and songs to the keyboard. It's a good keyboard for a begginer. Probrably not suited for computer use, but works if you do. I just suggested it because I had one available :)

personally if it does what you want, £40 isnt bad. if youre going to buy off Ebay though, you might find cheaper :)


Plus, if you just want small-space usage with midi functionality, its worth the extra cash. have a look for some of the smaller items on www.m-audio.com

Second one! Wicked price! I used to have one but was a bit unlucky and had to take it back, otherwise it was great, and i plugged it into fruityloops, bought BassStation and V Station (Novation!) and I was in heaven :D

Point is, the Keystation 49 from M-Audio is exactly what you're asking for: a high quality low-cost MIDI keyboard with a pitch bender. You can find it much cheaper through froogle than on M-Audio's website.

Hey, I've owned a KeyStation 49, Theyre good too! I decided the two octave version was too small for me.

I dont see you regretting it at any time :D

3 octaves would be perfect for me, but most come in at 2 or 4.
