Paypal Donate button

Anyone have the source to make one?

In fact, has anyone actually had any money come in from one of these?

Go to the Merchant Tools on the PayPal site. It's all automated then you just copy/paste the HTML.

Don't expect it to get clicked very often, though - if ever! :)

I have one on my site, which I put up yesterday. I'm not holding my breath, though. More of an experiment, really.

OK thanks, yeah I saw yours AND click it, just to see what happended. Didn't, uh, type anything in tho' sorry!

You tease! :P

Back when bandwidth was expensive and I was getting 80,000+ downloads a month I tried a donate button and got no response. It'll cost you more in bandwidth to host the button than it will earn you, unless you've got a genuine community site like http://www.remakes.org.

Does anyone ever donate using Paypal?

I've gotten three donations.

Mine works fine. I've received one donation.

Wow, that's pretty cool!

I have donate button in my site too... it's been there 2-3 years and so far no one has donated to me one cent. :)

I suppose the question that counts is, what have you done that would make people want to donate?

Another question to ask yourself is: how many times have YOU made a donation to someone? :P

Have a dollar chris! ;)

Can't I use your font editor for bmax? all it does is make a font file right?

When I had a mini-morpg, I received aroudn 800 dollars in donations. Of course, the server costed 100 a month or so, so I didnt even break even :)

So I'm guessing they will charge you 3.4% + 20p per donation!

Well, I dont recall them taking anything else but a small percentage, and that was only after I accepted credit cards.

Have a dollar chris! ;)
Thank you, sir. Actually, you donated £1 - sorry, no refunds! :P Now, what should I spend my new-found fortune on? PayPal charges, probably. :/

It creates a font image and an associated metrics file. I don't own Bmax so don't know how it handles fonts, nor could I write user functions for it. :) However, anyone is welcome to try and get it working with Bmax. The metrics file is a simple format which you should easily be able to deduce from the load function, in the user library source. :)

Haha yeah dont spend it all in one place.. Well, I dont know anything about "metrics" files. But perhaps when I get to the point of adding a font to my game, I'll take a gander at your utility and see what I can come up with.

The metrics file just contains info about the font, like the x/y coord of where each character frame is located inside the font image, etc. It's pretty simple. :)

WOW, Big10p, my thread got you a £1. So Finder fee, heh, common ;-)

You'll be lucky! It's mine, ALL MINE! mwwwuuuuuuhahahaha!! :P

I've made donations before as a thank you for content that I found on certain websites.

Yesterday I donated 30 Euro to kloofy.net

that's quite a donation!

Yeah, I know. It's a site I've used fairly regularly for the last 12 months though. Just wanted to show my appreciation for it. Kloofy can have a few beers on me;)

That's my situation all-right. And nobody bought my precious merchandise :(

I'm banned from using paypal so can't have a donate button.

Paypal for some reason claim that I opened several paypal accounts to launder money and defraud ebay sellers.

I used to have a couple of programming books from Amazon linked on my website, through their associate program. I think I made about $25 or so in referral commission.
