MaxGUI Clipboard usage

On win32 when I GadgetCopy a gadget into the clipboard, I can paste the text into other apps.
As soon as I close my blitz app, the clipboard empties! (thereby pasting into other apps does nothing)

Is this normal operation on win32?

Some programs do it, some don't.
