Mark's Worklog/Updates

Ever since the blitz month mag closed down I have been missing among all the other things, but especially, a regular update from Mark. I’m not like some of the people who need to know when something will be out to the nearest second. I understand that as a programmer you can’t give exact dates but I do miss being updated on a monthly basis so I myself can gauge where Mark is without him having to commit himself. What I’m asking for is for Mark to update his work log on a monthly basis, or thereabout. I think this would calm a lot of people and while not reduce speculation from certain quarters, limit the scope for hysterical members to speculate e.g. MAX 3D won’t be out till 2037. I’d also find it interesting to hear Marks views on Vista and compatibility.

It sucks that we don't get more regular information updates on BlitzMax. It seems like BlitzReasearch is Big Corp instead of small company. But now days even big corporations have blogs that are constantly updated with interesting info while small company like BR doesn't have time or will to do it.

It would be interesting to read a blog that Mark or someone at BR writtes no matter if it has Max3d info or not...

some recent tread said BR are on holiday for most of Jan until 27th or something.

Hmm, Mark is back since he posted 2 or 3 days ago in blitzmax forums.

Skid is still around as he just removed a post I made yesterday that pointed out the DEP bug that is not fully fixed in B+ & B3D.

I'd appreciate a simple "Last whole month i did little. We fiddled around with shader support and integration, but we didnt do much."

Much better than hearing 73 people saying "it'll never get done"

Perhaps Mr. Sibly just popped by the forums while on vacation?

Common sense should tell you that periodically requesting for something won't make it magically appear any faster.

Kinda like the way livestock doesn't get heavier by getting weighed more often?

In fact it'll lose weight from being exercised too often.

We are both just back at work as of last week and have moved into new premises as of this week.

Brice, I have no idea what you are talking about, could you please post something in the relevant bug forum so any issues you are having can be addressed.

hey... if he's got the time, then i'm sure he'll post something... but then again, based on past outbreaks of lunacy based on past dribbles of info, can ya really blame him for not putting up anything...

this is a case of us getting exactly what we've asked for... maybe not in so many words, but...

(ok Mark... now if that aint kissin up to the administration, then i don't know what is... i expect a full progress report, and a beta copy in my email asap... )

I read that post and am also disturbed when innocent posts go 'missing'... but skiddy isn't the person I would have suspected...

We need a Blitz Research web cam.
It kills two birds with one stone! We get a picture of Mark, and we see proof that they're doing work :)

I need nothing - I am re-playing FarCry - much better than programming.

BlitzMax3D and Cobra can just jolly well wait. I'm too busy. Plus Oblivion is due soon and it is the World Cup soon.

Shagwana and skid are the ones to blame in 90% of cases. It is occasionally another mod, but the vast majority of thread removals are due to their prominent pudenda.

Blitz hasn't been a one man show since the late 80's.

BLIde is OK, but it feels so clunky at times. Just a personal preference thing. Would be nice if Brucey released the source to his Eclipse plugin. (Especially considering that all of my current work is done in Eclipse..)
