Books And Code Samples

If I but a Programming Book can I base my code on the Code Samples of the Book?

Of course. The book would be worthless otherwise...

Can I post those codes?
For example If I am not wrong most books have C codes
or PseutoCode If I convert this codes in BMax it's not the same as the book's. So I can post them?

Why not check for notices in the book?
