best lcd panel for £200

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/best lcd panel for £200

Which lcd screen would you guys recommend for £200. I would like at least 17in's.

I'd recommend 17" anyway at that price, 19" isnt a higher res.

see http://www.anandtech.com/ and http://www.tomshardware.com/
for reviews.

19" Hyundai ImageQuest 90D+ for £295 from most good retailers.

he said £200! :P

I've been looking for one today because my old monitor died (it was extremely old). I'm thinking of getting one of this site: http://www.overclockers.co.uk. The one i will probably get was cheaper with VAT than on another site without VAT (Hyundai Imagequest L72D+).

It is worth saving up another £95 rather than buy a piece of @#!* for £200.

Btw, I have just bought the L72D+ for a pc I built last weekend. I purchased this from overclockers also. It's their cheapest...

Here are my impressions (I am an LCD quality fanatic):

PROS:

- well built
- fantastic quality display
- auto adjustment (no need to fiddle with geometry controls)
- not too expensive
- nice and bright

CONS:

- gaming response not as good as the big brother 19" 90D+

- ANALOGUE ONLY! thats right - there are no dvi connectors. This was very suprising to me, however the quality did not suffer for it.

Try PCWorld, I found an iiyama ProLite E483S 19" for £199.00 just before Christmas.

I think they may have sold out all of those not long ago, and they now have some LG 19" for about that price too. LG are OK.

As long as the specs seem sensible, why not give it a go?

OK, PCW suck, but as long as you know what you want, and the price is right then what's not to like?

Thanks for all the info guy's.
I'm checking all the recommended items out, I will let you know what i decide on.

Cheers

Mmm, well - if you fancy the glossy screen of the Sonys. Then checkout the CTX F773L.

I bought one - it is lush.
