Windows Live Messenger beta
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Windows Live Messenger beta
For those of you who don't know what it is, it's pretty much MSN Messenger 8.0 (beta).
So anyone want an invitation? I've got [edit:]zero (some of the invitees should have invites later, depending on the 'want' of them, you may be able to get other people to do your bidding for one -- it's REALLY fun to abuse the power).
Sure, I'd love to top up my BloatWare :D

Oh yes, you'll need an MSN passport that's attached to a working e-mail address.
Hmm, it sounds like more procrastination is taking place.

I won't touch MS passport with a ten-foot pole, and honestly don't see the point of MSN messenger.
Skype for voice & video, and a ad-stripped version of ICQ2000 do everything I need them to do, and importantly:
not more than that.
Yes please Noel. tzuyd@... (my spam friendly address) is my MSN passport addy. Screw that hotmail crud.
That's all nice and dandy for you lot. Have fun on Skype.
VOIP mainly.
And the new interface (makes it a lot nicer).
By the way, one left.
I'll take one, please! (If it's still available) Profile e-mail.
Thanks.
The only reason for using MSN is that your friends are using it.. I'd rather have them all using IRC.. but what can ya do..
Oh, and prolly the webcam aspect.. yay! :P
I actually quite like MSN. I first used ICQ, but they kept adding in so many features, the windows just looked plain ugly. MSN, at the time, was plain and simple. Gradually the features have been added, just as with ICQ, but it's a little less ugly, a little more bearable.
Also, I like the potential comedy aspect of making custom Display Pictures, and using it with Messenger Plus! for comedy sound effects.
I use Skype purely for VoIP, making teleconferences for gaming and the like.
Also, the features in Live Messenger intrigue me, such as folder sharing.
is there a blitz community irc channel?
#blitzbasic @ irc.blitzed.org
Glen: I'll send one to you when I get more invites (or some of the folks here might get new ones before I do, in which case, invite Glen).
Just use Windows Messenger.
Windows Messenger likes to crash my PC for some reason.
MSN messenger is getting beyond a joke now. I flat refuse to upgrade to version 7. Mainly the big flashy "Winks" that appear, and cover your whole window, accompanyed by an annoying sound. Only reason i use it, is for the webcam feature. Seems to be slightly better than the rest.
Can I have one?
(my email is littleboy55 at hotmail dot com
i know.. it's lame)
@Ross: you can turn them off (or at least, not automatically played).
@Noel: Cheers. Strange that you like the interface. I find it absolutely catastrophic. Each to their own, huh! I can't immediately see anything new in this software. Except for the annoying video pane which won't go away despite the fact that I unticked it's existance in Preferences... oh well...
Cheers, Noel!
A-patch.tk and Messenger Plus! go a long way towards improving the annoyances of newer messengers.
A-patch is great. It allready patches this version anyway =]
