Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/I'm afraid it's time for an update from Mark...

It's time we got an update on the 3D module. Don't even bother with replies of "it'll be done when it's done" or other crap I don't want to hear otherwise I will set Noel Cower on to you.

I want to know how far the module has come along. I want to know what features it currently has.

Give some info please or I will just go and license another engine and never come back here untill tomorrow.

It'll be done when it's done.

I'm afraid it's time for an update from Mark...

... because these topics have started sprouting up twice a week again.

There are other engines out there, and more of us are realising that the longer we wait.

I believe Mark has been on vacation since the release 1.14. I doubt mush has been done.
Good luck in your quest for an update.

That's true, and I hate to add to one of these tired threads, but I haven't seen an engine out there that's as easy to use as B3D appears to be.

I'm still trying to figure out how to compile Bmax because of this MinGw mess. Compiling modules to make an engine to work is out of the question for me.

Someone remind me again the alternatives for easy-to-use engines? No fancy graphical tricks needed, I just need something that's easy to use.

(I'm almost considering just buying B3D at this point)

Umm, you don't need to compile modules to get Max to work. Just synchronise and you're off.

Way ahead of you there.

Sorry, I worded that wrong. Hehe. BMax works fine for me.
What doesn't work is building modules. You seem to need to
do this with many of the 3d options out there. The problem
for me is that I can't build modules at all. It has to do with
the fact that my MinGW is not installed correctly and I can't
figure out what's wrong with it.

Reinstall it, then :)
I know that the DevKitPro Updater utility will do it for you.

I think that these delay and some various little BMax flaws are healthy in some ways, because the community is really doing a lot of nice stuff in the absense of... things. We have a few very nice GUIs, lots of 3d engines either in the works or finished that can be improved upon by the community, and lots of excellent free IDEs.

lots of excellent free IDEs.

Um, no, only one excellent free IDE for BMax currently. All the rest of them suck.

easy to use 3D Engine - Truevision 3D
if you own BMAX use Irrlicht, with my average system im getting 1200-1500 fps in some amazing scenes.

gmans site to the bmax irrlcht site = http://www.gprogs.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=8

but yes I agree some Max3D info would be nice

Brl are on holls to around the 23rd. With that in mind theres nothing more to be said on this subject till then, so im locking this thread before something happens that should't.
