Funny Mac Joke

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Funny Mac Joke

Reading a BBC article about Macs using Intel chips I found this funny comment...

" Why don't Apple go the whole hog and run Windows XP on their laptops? That way their users could run some useful applications "

lol

not funny

Sounds like a micro$oft advertisment to me, wonder how much they paid for it?

Macs have a lot of useful stuff on them and i'd even say MS has to learn from their OS.

Yeah its funny - I'm entitled to laugh because I owned a Mac until 2 days ago. Mac OS is very nice, and no doubt at all MS have nicked a lot of ideas from it, but compatibility with 99% of the software that's out there for personal computers is important.... as I found out.

Oh for crying out loud, it's just a joke. It's funny, laugh! People with a cause are always so humorless.

Here's another Mac joke:

Q: What's the difference between a Mac and an Etch-A-Sketch?

A: You don't have to shake the Mac to clear the screen.

You generally find the people who come up with such wit are those people who have never actually seen a Mac. Let alone used one.

Those who have will be sitting there quietly smiling to themselves.

i love Macs, just don't make me use one. (Mac joke) :)

Wow... can Mac owners not take a joke?!

I have a PC but am happy to hear any number of Microsoft / Intel bashing jokes without getting all defensive and tetchy.

True Avon, but when you buy a Mac, it comes with a built-in "smug superiority complex". :P

^^ that's only a joke, too, in case you're stuck in "serious mode".

Q: What's the difference between a PC and an Abacus?
A: It's doesn't take 20 minutes to boot the Abacus.

Q: What's the best way to accelerate a PC?
A: Drop it off a tall building.

Q: Why don't NASA use PCs?
A: They don't need to do crash tests.

Saleperson: Have you heard that new BMWs are using Windows?
Engineer: That'll give new meaning to the term "Blue Screen Of Death".

Three major versions of Windows are CE ME NT. Coincidence?

Three major versions of Windows are CE ME NT. Coincidence?
I've heard the others before, but not that one - lol!

What's the difference between a Mac and a PC?

About a thousand dollars.

Once again, I notice a strange misunderstanding.
Unlike a Macintosh, a PC does not have to run on Windows.
They could run on Linux, DOS, Windows 1.0, or any other operating system out there!

(Yes, I understand that there is the chance that Macs can have a new OS dumped on, but the process is probably overly complex and involves tricking the computer).

Nice jokes. (Haha.)
Cement one is good :)

hahahahahahahahhaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

i just luv computer humor....

more... more!!!!

(hey Pickles... neither does a mac have to run osx... as a matter of fact, don't be surprised when ya see these new intelmacs running windows as well)

--Mike

Q: What is the difference between a Mac User and a Terrorist?
A: You can negotiate with a terrorist.

Q: What do Mac Users use for birth control?
A: Their personalities!

haaaaa...

more!!! morrrrre!!!!!

:)

--Mike

Incidentally, I have a copy of Windows 1.0 on 7 floppies at home.

i think one is missing- There's no WIN.COM? :/

Q: How do you crash a PC?
A: Switch it on.

True story: Did you know that the Windows95 logo and packaging was designed using a Mac? Rather ironic don't you think.

Sorry for my sense of humor :)

A man went into a novelty shop and saw an item that caught his fancy almost immediately. It was a stuffed rat. The man couldn't take his eyes off it, and finally asked how much it cost. The answer was "$79.95, but if you buy it, you can't return it for any reason." The man thought this was a bit odd, but he was really taken by the stuffed rat so he bought it.

As he headed down the street with the stuffed rat, several live rats started following him. He thought this was really odd, but he kept walking. Within a few blocks, he had a huge pack of rats behind him. When he got to the river, he threw the stuffed rat into the river, and all the live rats jumped into the river and drowned.

The man returned to the shop. As soon as he walked in, the owner said "I told you you couldn't return the stuffed rat!"

The man said "No! I don't want to return it! I was wondering if you had any stuffed Mac Users."

Q: How do you crash a PC?
A: Switch it on.
Mine always crashes when I try and switch it off! :/

And now for a guy in a Funny Mac:

I would have expected that from Sswift. :p But still, Hahaha :)

lol @ jokes esp. Big10ps! btw Big10p, have you installed the Win98 shutdown patch? However, even with the patch my boy's Win98 PC won't shut down unless I unplug the USB wireless adapter (from Wanadoo) and wait until the icon goes red, then it shut's down fine. It won't boot with it plugged on either! But it is a P166, I'm frankly amazed it even has USB!

"sitting there quietly smiling to themselves"

yeah ... like they're insane!

Anyway we had the thread about putting Windows on Macs ages ago, this thread is about jokes not boring stuff.

Ok...I was wrong. It does have some use after all....

Yep, I've installed all update patches. It doesn't hang every time, though - kinda 50/50 thing. I can usually boot fine with the wireless adapter plugged in, though. Whatever the issue is, it's bound to be win98's fault. :)

Win98 shutdown patch, what does that do? MIne shuts down ok :)

Avon,

How dare you post a picture of Columbo and make a joke about him! That's not on!

Really it isn't!

I don't know how you have the gaul to do that - Peter Faulk is a nice chap and has millions of fans - of which I am not one....er oh I'll shut up now.

Yours annoyingly

Win98 shutdown patch, what does that do? MIne shuts down ok :)
It's an old patch that was introduced when CPUs started getting so fast that they'd shutdown the system before the hard disc cache could flush. The patch simply introduced a short delay before shutting down.

Think I remembered that right - it's been a long time. :P

god is that all it did, how crap is that!

IPete2: I'm a big columbo fan, got seasons 1,2,3 on DVD, they're great, but I don't mind jokes about his mac, or car, or mannerims "just one more thing" ;-)

.

I knew you'd be sympathetic to my cause - it's that Avon - he's just a stirrer!!!!!

I'll get my revenge...you wait until COD he will have his chips!

(lol - incase anyone thought I was being serious in any way!)

IPete2,

Stick with the haddock.

it's that Avon - he's just a stirrer!!!!!
Wha...?! Little 'ol me? *evil cackle*

As to your post about Columbo, I am with Grey - I am a big fan. I am tempted by the DVD's myself, but being good and just spending money on essentials. Like games. :)

get them from ebay, I did and they rock. Great to watch with wife/parner if you can both get into them. I laugh my head off at them sometimes, but I also love the whole 70s America feel, it's great.

Enay! lol!

IPete2.

I reckon ENAY is really a forum bot and when its AI can't handle a thread it just posts that reponse as a standard error message. Perhaps actually the fish scale depending on the severity or other marine creatures are introduced? When he starts going on about Whales we know he's about to blow!

I thought ENAY was more cheesey than fishy...

He collects toilet rolls, y'know. Nuff said. :P

You should check the joke on the main apple page www.apple.com/uk/

"What's an Intel chip doing in a Mac? A whole lot more than it's ever done in a PC"

ive switched over to mac a year ago and i havent looked back, it's just nice to have an OS that is functional and nice on the eyes!

ya mean ENAY isn't Columbo...

I think he was making a joke about how Mac fanboys can't take a joke. To wit:

How many Mac users does it take to change a lightbulb?
That's not funny.

(this was originally a joke about feminists, but it applies here)

You know... the XP in windows XP might stand for lots of things... such as Expirence... but it also is a guy vigorously sticking his tongue out at you for having it.

Yeah -- XPloit.

Best way to accelerate a Mac prior to the Intel version: 9.8m/s^2

In my opinion OSX and XP *both* look like a piece of crap. Too much eyecandy at the expense of functionality. Win2000 had it right, it's all been downhill from there...

ha!!!!

Real men build their own Eniac and won't use anything else!

>In my opinion OSX and XP *both* look like a piece of crap.
>Too much eyecandy at the expense of functionality.

True.

>Win2000 had it right, it's all been downhill from there...

Nah, Workbench 3.1 had it right, just the right blend between 3D and usefulness!

Andy

jhocking: lol at lightbulb joke and feminist comment haha.

In my opinion OSX and XP *both* look like a piece of crap.

I'll bet you're quite the creative muse for your artists!

I resent the comparison of Apple Mac's to computers. It's more appropriate to compare them to say ... an Amstrad web phone, I mean, they both browse the web and dont do a lot else right. I never have worked out why the Apple is so much heavier than the Amstrad...

:) Just one of the wind ups I say to my boss at least daily, many Mac users struggle to see humour in such things because they are always so busy trying to convert the infidels they forget to stop preaching long enough to take a breath.

Mac and PC user, Becky (who preffers Amigas so doesnt really care about the Mac argument)

Yeah but be honest - in our day it was Amigas v's Atari's.

Same arguement - different names.

IPete2.

What's the difference between a brontosaurus and a Mac?
A brontosaurus runs faster.

Why aren't more Mac owners computer literate?
They would be, if they had a computer.

How many Mac users does it take to change a light bulb?
Four. One to consult the manual that came with it, one to call tech-support, and two to sit and wait for the 'Smiley Face' to appear and say 'Welcome to Macintosh'.

Some of the jokes are funny, but that guy needs to take a chill pill.

I remember a few years ago when you could buy anything in iMac colours.

"an Amstrad web phone" lol my arse off!!! Goo0d1

Thing is with the Atari/Amiga wars, the Amiga was the clear winner from the start, better sound and graphics. Some dweeb once said the Atari was better cos it was 520 and the Amiga was 500, of course both had 512K of memory, the numbering was rather "AMD"-like.

Enought is enought, im stopping this thread before it becomes a mac v pc flamewar. Thank you for your time.
