Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/TGC buys AlienCodec Apparently Sabata has been busy building a house and no longer checks his email regularly, which nearly resulted in the collapse of the sale when TGC actually had to trace the telephone number of the guy to get his bank details to pay him.
Sabata sought to initiate proceedings after Indigicon didn't offer enough and BlitzResearch where not interested.
Sabata blames all customer service issues on his house building project which has "taken over", but remember this only covers the last few months and not the 18 months or so his reputation was being dragged through the gutter, it certainly doesnt clarify my own experience.
TGC are likely to focus on the tree making programs and when I spoke to them they where considering giving away BlitzTree/Grass as public open source stuff as it's no use to them - although they had contacted a few Blitz programmers to see what could be done with them. I gather the AC stuff uses a stack system to hold terrain objects thus forcing non-local flora to be checked every update - which sounds a bit amateur to me.
