Get out of FFO, the economy is rubbish now... I played it for a few months
The fact the economy is up to the players is one of the things I like about it, though it is obvious by now the economy has become overinflated right now (mainly thanks to gold-sellers & the fishing exploit that was fixed a year back).....and I know, I'm on the worst inflated server right now, Asura.
(you only see it as a real problem with rarer items obviously though, as their price rises 200-500% more over the common stuff)
then got really bored with how linier and redundant it was....
Most MMOs are "linear" in a sense, you just get to choose which order to do them in..... do missions, do quests, skill up a craft, kill opposing forces, finish the long XP grind till you cap off your level to do more quests and start a new character to level to the cap, etc.
Main reason I still play the game is because there are still things I want to do in it, and I've also found me a really good guild (Linkshell) that makes it all the more fun to continue playing in, love the new events added in last months update...
I can see why people love WoW though, it really does cater to the non-hardcore MMO players, allowing people to get things done that are short on time these days due to real-life and what not, heck, even Guild Wars is great with that (which I play to the side of FFXI)
