igLoader - Just got better.

igLoader version 1.2.0.0 will be released tomorrow, here is a summary of the updates. It is actually on-line now.

- Automatic Upgrade - igLoader will check current version and notify user if upgrade is available. Will auto-redirect user to upgrade page. You are no longer required to build a checking mechanism into your webpage.

- Window > Fullscreen > Window compatiblilty (**)

- igLoader <-> application communication

- (**)Re-Embed Window : Required when switching from FullScreen back to Windowed Mode.

- Request File : Instruct igLoader to download a file from Network/internet. Async download, igLoader will notify application when download is complete and location of cached file. (http, ftp, mailto)

- Get URL : Instruct igLoader to open a URL, user specified target. (http, ftp, mailto)

- Post URL : Instruct igLoader to post to a URL, utilising the POST method. It is possible to post contents of a buffer or a complete file. (http, ftp, mailto)

I think this is great work as well, and would like to purchase a license to try it out (and showcase it to remote clients). But, I'm unclear as to whether "single title" means I can use it for multiple demos one-after-the-other or simultaneously.

What does the igLoader <-> Application communication make available?

My current assumption is that it opens up the Post and Get URL, as well as file downloads.

The embed, url and file commands (they should be indented in the post above).

I have build a custom Message system which sits on top of Windows Messaging, this allows for very fast and assured message delivery.

Yes igLoader utlises the API commands for data transfer.

The scrolling bug has not been fixed. I have updated the internal framework, a side effect of the optimised code maybe the fixing of that bug.

normally side-effects are bugs not bug fixes so that's a pretty good result.

igLoader is licensed per title, a unique license key is generated per application. Why? to prevent unauthorised, unlicensed usage and delivery of malicous software.

The license is transferrable between applications. You can generate new license keys using the web-based tools. The license server will keep track of your "license quota", if you transfer a key the server will mark the old key as invalid. If someone then tries to download the now "unlicensed software" they will be notified that the license is invalid, we will be notified also - the plugin will terminate and redirect them to a page on the igloader website.

So yes, you could do what you intended.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE**

Software Maintenance and Subscription (support and minor version upgrades) are now included in the license fee, the license is perpetual.

New Major versions will have an upgrade path for existing customers. Major version upgrades are designed to further enhance the capabilities of igLoader and provide more functionality to your applications. They will not be compulsory purchases for existing license holders, and will not restrict the usage of existing applications.

It's just a name for your licensing (correct use of s) scheme isn't it? How about have no name for the scheme. IgLoader is the product, the licensing scheme is just that, nothing more, perhaps it doesn't need a name/pun?

Web based license tool launched.

The web based tool is a simple front-end that allows you to simply :-

* Create Licenses for your applications
* Transfer Licenses to other titles
* Terminate Licenses
* Reactivate Licenses
* Automatically Create HTML for your webpage
* Create encrypted URLs for License and Version management (Portal license only)
* Integration into existing backend systems (License management Portal license only)

Not working for me. Tried loading up the linked demos.

I get a "click here to get the plugin" message. Clicking it get's me the following message:

Clicking on the "Get the Plug-in" button on the "Plug-in Not Loaded" menu get's me nothing.

If I manually type in the new URL the menu lists: http://igloader.com/download/igLoader_setup.exe
then I can download it. Not sure the average Soccer Mom is going to be up to doing that.

Also, the Binary Sun demo comes up with a "Plug-in Not Loaded" message that's pointing to a non-functioning location as well: (yes, it has 4 Ws!)

- igLoader Dev Edition has been upgraded, some users reported compatibility issues with the host control dll and IE, this has now been resolved.

- igLoader Professional Edition* package is now free to download. The package has been made available on general release for potential customers to familiarise themselves with the software and documentation before making a purchase decision. Applications cannot be served without a purchased license.

Additional security feature added.

- New integrated PE Loader and Decryptor prevents application being launched without igLoader. Previous versions of igLoader decrypted application files to disk before launching them, the new version decrypts and launches them from memory!

This feature was requested by a subscription based game service who need control over game launches.
