I want some mobile games!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/I want some mobile games!

I just upgraded to a Sony Ericsson K750i and I'd like to try a few games - can anyone point me in the direction of any free no-strings downloads to try out? Also, has anyone played the Age of Empires 2 Mobile version?

I dunno about free, but the only game I have on my K750i is Gridrunner++ - http://llamasoft.co.uk/gridrunner.php - which is great for bus journeys or situations where you forget your DS or PSP.

Avoid the mobile version of Lemmings, no matter how tempted you might be.

Heh...I got a site where you can "aquire" all you want....I use know a bunch more back during my N-Gage/Nokia 6620 days....lol......but my recent upgrade to the 6682 has rekindle my interests in cel-phone gamming. You're not gonna find too many (if any..!) free "no-strings" downloads to try out....most sites will almost always charge for any games. However, I recall reading that if you become a game reviewer for Midlet-Reviews (http://www.midlet-review.com/index?content=home) you'll have access to all the newest games for reviewing. I also recall that the G-gage were realeasing demos of their games over the net and a few free ones for d/l but i dont think it'll run on the Ericson phones...

BTW, i havent played Age of Empires 2 on the cel-phone, but it looks similar to the Ancient Empires series which is also one of my all-time favorites. All those Splinter Cell games are pretty good also....

The K750i is a pretty cool phone...too bad its not available in the US...I guess the equivalent of it would be the W810i....but its not released yet (the US is always behind in mobile technology...)

I have yet to enjoy cell-phone gaming. Well... thats not true.. Snake on my very very old black and white cell was good...

Too bad my new one doesn't have it.. and to get it I would have to shell out upwards of 5$ for the download time... hidden charges are a bitch..

"oh, yeah, sure, if you find free content for you cell phone it really is free." -but the download isn't.

K750 is equivalent to the W800 but with a simplified media player.

Splinter Cell 3D works good on the k750- its great fun, plus theres a pool game lying around that was given away for free, worked pretty well.

Phones arent gaming devices. the k750 may indeed look pretty nice but it's still not a gaming device :P

k750 has bluetooth.

Download the games on your PC and send them to your phone usnig a BT adapter. :P

I can have any ringtone i want without paying using this method. I dare you to tell me its illegal. Go on. Do it.

BTW, i think its AWFUL that since phones started playing MIDI that most sites that distribute them have started charging. There once was a time when you could get all you wanted from www.midi.com.

but you still can using the cache :P

I agree, but phones these days aren't like the phones we see 5 years ago (hell 5 years ago...the SNAKES game was still the rage! :p ). Cel-phones were never intended to be gamming devices....it just happened that they are capable of playings games....and some quite well. And the unfortunate N-Gage was the most advanced "handheld game system" for its time, which infact was based on cellular phone technology. But one must remember....that cel-phone must never forget that it is first.....a phone.

I own a w800. I dont know why :P £250 for a phone. Why? I used to use bluetooth and apps to control my server.

I dont do it anymore- so it was a waste of time :)

I also understand that Visual Studio 2005 Standard has a way for you to port games or programs that you made, and put those into Windows Mobile-based devices like Pocket PC, and Smart Phones, etc... I'm not too sure if you were thinking about that or not. To me, that's worth looking into as well.
