Call of Duty 1 - Tonight (Saturday 7th January 06)

Hey guys - just a reminder about 8:00pm UK time this evening we're gonna meet to have a game or two or three of Call of Duty 1 and definately the expansion pack 'United Offensive'. Anyone welcome!

I shall be going under the clan name of: Digital IPete2, my son will be Digital ROC, others may wish to appear to be part of the same 'clan' just prefix your name with 'Digital', as I have done.

I'm interested. Current problem is I'm on the laptop cos, I went round to someones house to help setup their router today and left my network cable there! Doh! I'm gonna try to get it back before 8pm

I haven't played it MP so it shold be a blast, use to be good at Quake3 and Unreal Tournament but I could be crud at this plus I'm slowly getting half cut, maybe I should go on the other team and fire wildly! :-)

Whilst we're downloading patches, we are gonna be in normal COD 1 Multiplayer (not UO to begin with).

If it really is good, I'll probably own it. CoD IS v. good. That Team Deathmatch in the village was great fun, all the tactics, the machine gun in the window etc. I need more practice!

yeah me too - nice small cosy lots of places to hide and sneak around in, underground, on roofs, in the streets, in the fences and bushes - great fun.

I like the tanks and the jeeps though too, and I think they are only really available in the Base Assault type games - the Foy level is awesome - we nearly got to play that tonight but the server changed as it was about to drop into the game doh!

Ah well definately next time!

I don't have too many games so COD 1, COD1- UO, MOH AA - MOH SH, are really the only ones where I can play multiplayer online afaik.

I think it would be cool if someone set up a BlitzBasic game server for popular games like CS:S and COD. It could work out nicely. Except for money. (I wouldn't be paying for it).

IPete: Yeah I'll play base assault next time. Only thing I found is again, it takes a while to get to the action, plus you can't take out a tank with sticky bombs (COD2), only another tank or flak I guess. Hey, at least we are all patched up and ready to roll now so we can start earlier. Hope Avon plays again too. It was nice Rich played as well. btw, if you liked the games in your list then you really should get COD2 (around £20 now) and MoH Pacific Assault (get off ebay used, it's brilliant).

I'm waiting for the sequel. COD VS HADDOCK.

Okay I will look at purchasing COD 2 sometime soon. BTW you can blow up tanks using bazookas which are strewn around in crates or leaning against the walls in some of the houses. You can also use satchel packs to damage tanks, so there is a little more variety for destroying stuff.

I have seen somewhere a wire triggered explosive device, where by a combination of keystrokes you lay a trap down. I never got to actaully do that but Im farily certain I fell fowl of it a couple of times in the Stalingrad level last night.

Cool, those extra things make it more interesting. Yeah the wire trap keys seem to flash up on the screen every so often somthing about going prone.

Thats actually part of a mod, AWE I think, alot of servers for cod1 run that mod but not all have tripwires turned on, you have to have 2 grenades or you cant place one, cant remember the key press of the top of my head. Wish I had seen this post on sat. would have joined you guys.
