hi guys

One of my upcoming projects is going to be animating my first model. What file types of animation, from Lightwave, can Blitz use??

Look in the toolbox section, it should be links to some applications that converts from LWO/LWS file to B3d format.

You can use skeletal animation. You can probably do hierarchy animation too; depends on if the exporter supports that (read its documentation.)
