Help! Problem mounting external HD

I've been using a FireLite 100GB bus powered firewire HD on my G5 at work. I tried to delete a folder of pictures and the max locked up while the trashcan was emptying, so I turned off the mac. Now the HD won't mount on this mac or any other, although it will be recognised in 'About this mac' on the Firewire bus. The drive spins and is not grating or anything.

Can this be fixed?

Sounds like you need some sort of partition repair tool for the mac. I don't own one myself, so not very clued up on it all.

You could see if the demo for this software can see anything.

You could try Disk Utility. I think it can be found in your Applications/Utilities folder.
